Tomorrow is Jon's shoulder surgery.  I feel so bad for him that he has had to wait 2 weeks to get  it fixed.

Our accident was 2 weeks ago today.  I cannot believe how fast my road rash has healed.  Some friens from church who were missionaries in Thialand gave me some cream called silverderm that you can only get there...it is some awesome stuff!!

I finally got some pictures added.  I can't get mine to load...but these pictures I added are some my Dad took.

I will update when we get home on Wednesday...keep us in your prayers...please.

I am finally able to type with three fingers and a thumb, so I will try to update here about our motorcycle(s) accident(s).

First - I will apologize formy typing - I'm not used to this hunting and pecking stuff,

Second - thank you so much to our OH family for all of your prayers, calls, notes, love and support.  This has been a tough year for us...and you all have made it so much easier.  Thank you.

My first motorcycle accident happened about a month ago.  Jon and I were demo-ing two brand new bikes.  I went around a curve with some gravel in it, slid, over corrected and dropped the bike.  I skinned up my elbow,  my thigh (shredded my favorite pair of jeans) and broke three ribs...

Memorial day...Jon and I were returning from camping with my parents(they were following us home and were about 30 miles behind us).  We were at the Mt. Airy  exit on I-77 in NC and there  was apparently an accident about six miles ahead of us.  Traffic was going 70 miles per hour and came to an abrupt stop.  I was behind a green Ford extended cabpick-up truck with two little girls in it.  I knew if I hit the back of that pick-up truck on my motorcycle going between 60 -70 miles per hour it would have killed me...plus, I just could't do that to those two little girls.  My only option as I saw it was to try and make it between the truck and a white camper that was being towed to my left.  I figured the camper would be softer than the truck, if I hit it.  That's the last thing I remember...about the time I hit the camper,  Jon ran in to the back of my bike with his bike....

Like I said, I don't remember what happened next, just what Jon and the ER people said.  I came off my bike when Jon hit me and I guess I skidded on my face and arms behind it.  Jon went over the handle bars of his bike and landed on his shoulder and back.

Today...Jon had surgery on his back...the tuke a bone graft fromhis hipand fused L3, L4 and L5 together.  (L4 was a "burst" fracture).  Today we found out that on Tuesday, June 12, 2007 - he will have to have asecond surgery to repair two major breaks in his left shoulder...and amazing enough only three spots where he has any road rash! 

I am doing better...I can now use my left hand some...which is better than not being able to use either one.  I have a very badly sprained tail bone, left wrist and little finger.  My left arm and hand, and both elbows got the worst of the road rash.  My face got alot too and I still have a nice black eye.  The past couple of days my knees, shoulders and neck have really been bothering me too.  It seems there is a new ache some where every day.   

We both know that it is by the grace of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ that we are alive,  We both know that He isnot finished with us here.

Yesterday afternoon was the FFP (Formerly Fat People) Meeting in Charlottesville!  It always makes me feel so good after going there!  I love this group!  Everyone is so  down to earth!  It's nice to have people like me - who understand the challenges, etc. of life.  Everytime we go - we  get to know each other better!  Thank you sooo much Melinda for starting this group!  Many, many hugs too you!  Thank you sooo much Joann for the clothes!  It was like Christmas!  I loved "shopping" in your trunk!!  Hugs to you all! - Oh, BTW  - Jennifer,,.Jon loved talking to your son!  He commented on the way home what a great young man he was! 

Well, it's snowing here mixed with ice....and I have been up since 4am...my shoulder woke me up...so now I am sitting here  on the couch watching the weather channel with my heating pad...

I liked the old way of updating your profile...yes...I'm whining... I re-typed a ton of stuff the other day...and none of it is here...I think I'm just going to work on my book and work on getting my other goals done...  I just can't keep up with all of the "computer stuff"...I would rather be quilting!  Can you tell I need a break?  I am ready for warm weather and a tan!

I posted below about the photo shoot today.  It was pretty interesting!
When we got home we had our package and t-shirts for the OH Hawaii Cruise!  I am so excited to go!!!!!!!

Tomorrow is my shoulder surgery and then it's only 10 more days until we are in a tropical paradise!

Today the guys were here working on my kitchen again...I now have working appliances and water...I can't turn the water on yet - because I still don't have a sink...I do have my new dishwasher...I can't use it...but it's hooked up!!!  The countertop guys are supposed to come and install the countertops and sink next Thursday...then Friday the kitchen guys are supposed to come back out to finish up my kitchen!!!  I am so ready to have my kitchen back!!!!  I have been without since August 19th (not that I am keeping track or anything...)
So....I get my kitchen back by Saturday....I enjoy it Sunday, Monday and leave for Hawaii for two weeks on Tuesday and have someone else cook for me....works for me!!!

Well - things worked out and we are still Hawaii bound!!!  YEAH!!!
I will be having my shoulder surgery on October 24th...go back for my post-op visit on November 2 and then we leave fo Hawaii on November 3!
GOD IS AWESOME!!!  If we give Him time He will work it all out!

Well - here we go again...surgery again...the third one this year!!  Enough already!!  I really wanted to be able to have my PS done in January...but instead I am having shoulder surgery a week from today.  I am so bummed...I just want to cry...but that won't do any good.  

I called the cruise people to tell them we won't be able to go on the OH Hawaii Cruise.  I'm more upset about that then anything else.  I have looked forward to it for soooo long!  

Well, I took my drugs so - I will post more later.

 

I think I have transferred my old profile to here...I will check it later...I know I have some of it screwed up...but it's 1AM and I can't sleep so I thought I would give it a try!

Tomorrow I go back to the surgeon at INOVA for my shoulder.  I am tired of taking drugs...and sitting here on the couch.  I can't lay in the bed...Jon moves around too much and it drives my shoulder nuts.  I will post again tomorrow when I found out what is going on.  I really hope this doesn't screw up the Hawaii trip!!!
