I think I've tried them all in the past week and a half and I still have another week and a half left on my post-surgery liquid diet.  By far the best has been Isopure Smoothie in Berry Pomegranate.  YUMMY!  Now I just gotta find them for less than $3 per bottle.  I did find them for $1 per bottle on bodybuilding.com but you can only order one bottle!  Please let me know if you see these tasty little drinks. 

and I am dying to eat something!  This liquid diet is killing me!  I never feel full and I want to eat something so badly.  I'm supposed to be on this diet for three weeks and then fork tender for three months.  I honestly don't know if I'm going to make it.  I've been trying every protein drink out there.  I also let some root beer go flat and mixed it with vanilla protein for a "root beer float."  Not as exciting as it sounds!

I was in the hospital for just one night and have five incisions and they are healing nicely.  I'm not on any more pain meds.  I am having issues from the anesthesia still in me - diffiulty seeing up close and restless legs.  And I'm having a lot of gas - I wish it would just come out already!

I have definitely had moments of regret.  Its so hard when I'm watching tv and everyone is eating!!  But I made this decision and there's no turning back now!  But what I wouldn't give for some yogurt or applesauce!!

And I'm starting to get a little nervous.  Not about the surgery itself but about the nausea from the anesthesia, the pain, the recovery, the liquid diet.  Ugh!  Its going to be a tough three weeks.  And then its back to work on soft foods for three months.  How's that going to go when I travel for work so much?  So many concerns and my anxiety is kicking in!

But I am praying and I know that God will hear me and guide me.  I just have to keep telling myself that.  Its all going to be worth it for a new, healthy lifestyle.
 

So I have a lot of clothes - about three closets worth.  I plan to give a lot to Goodwill and plan to take part in our neighborhood yard sale in the spring to get rid of a lot of my clothes but I have a lot that are worth so much that I don't want to sell for just a $1.  I have clothes from Nordstrom, Talbots, HSN, QVC, Nieman Marcus, etc. that are very nice.  I probably have 20 cashmere sweaters!  I'm thinking about Ebay but that's a lot of work.  Maybe I can find some consignment shops in the Raleigh area that sell plus size clothing. 

What have you done with all of your nicer clothes?!  (I hope this post doesn't come across as sounding snobby but I need money to buy new clothes!)

And I have so much to do!  Pre-op with Dr. Pryor and the anesthesiologist this Tuesday.  Then its pre-op group on Friday.  I can't believe surgery day is almost here!  I'm so excited!!

I'm getting ready for my new birthday!  February 23rd is my surgery date and that will be the birth of the new me.  Looking forward to starting my journey to a healthier, happier me!!  In the meantime, I am having dinner with my husband and friends tonight to celebrate my original birthday. 

that have gone through what I'm about to go through.  My best friend's co-worker had surgery with Dr. Pryor on 1/5 and she is feeling great!  I spoke with her today and she put me at ease about things and gave me a lot of great advice.  Then I "met" a lady on the boards that is having surgery the day before me.  So she is about to go through what I'm about to go through.  Its just nice to know that you are not alone in this journey.

I think a little birdy must have put the bug in someone's ear at Duke because I received a call with my surgery date!!  Its February 23rd.  Woo hoo!  My insurance hasn't approved and I'm a little nervous about that but I feel like I am well on my way to a new life.  Thanks for listening/reading!

So I'm waiting for Duke to call me back and schedule my surgery with Dr. Pryor.  I'm getting pretty anxious and call every day.  Finally today I called my insurance company and they told me that nothing has been submitted.  Huh?!  Sure hope someone at Duke calls me back before the week is out!
