Go Jesse! You know what I was born in Elizabeth in 1946 (a long time before you). Born right there at St. Elizabeth's Hospital. Lived in Colonia until I was about 12 years old. Excited for you. I'm still waiting for insurance approval but my day will come! Keep us posted!

My best wishes for a safe and successful surgery. I hope all goes well for you and that you have a problem free recovery and a rapid weight loss. I had my open rny in Oct. 2001 and have lost 215 lbs already and am at my goal. YOU CAN DO IT TOO!!!! This surgery had made a wonderful change in my life and I feel so good now it is unbelievable. I was using a cpap for my sleep apnea now I sleep like a baby and my wife says that I don't even snore anymore!! Good luck to you on your surgery and recovery. Jesse, Sorry for your frustration at Dr. Kamelgards decision to put off your insurance approval until after he moves. Sometimes you must wait for all good things. My friend Bill just had his surgery with Dr. Kamelgard on July 7th, and is doing really, really well, so maybe it's best to just wait a short while. Or, you could check out other providers, but like you said, that would probably add more expense to your plate. Whatever you decide, WLS is worth waiting for, and time does go fast! Soon you should have your answer. Good luck to you.

Jesse - I'm sorry to hear about your delay and your surgeon's resignation and new schedule. I know that it is frustrating. As I put of the NJ board, you may want to call my surgeon, Dr. Mehta (732) 745-0999 or www.mehtabariatriccenter.com for more information. I switched to Dr. Mehta with most of my screenings completed. I did not have to start over, and I'm having surgery June 25, just four weeks after my consultation. I could of had surgery sooner, but I needed to arrange my work schedule.

Great you have so many supporters on your wife's side of the family and friends. Nothing makes believers out of folks more than seeing the results. Soon, I bet you will find your familiy becomes MUCH more interested as you succeed in losing the excess weight. Good luck to you. Roger.
