My name is Jen I'm 26 yrs old, I've been struggling with my weight since I was around 17 yrs old. When I got pregnant with my first child I started gaining weight & just went downhill from there. I feel that I have tried every diet there is to try & although some of them worked for a short time I always gained the weight back & useally more. I suffer from depression & anxiety & I feel that being on the medicine to help with that contributed to my weight gain as that was one of the side effects of the medication. I also have severe back problems & pain from a car accedent in April of 2000. The back pain & problems still plauge me today as if it happened yesterday, which I feel will always be the case. That combined with asthma which I have suffered from most of my life has caused my weight to sky rocket out of control. I have been interested in the Gastric Bypass procedure since I had seen a show about it with before & after stories of people who have had it done. It was after that show that I started to seriously research & consider this as an option for me. I have web surfed, read & watched as much information as I could find on this procedure, weighing all the benifites & risks & I trully feel that this could be the one tool that will turn my life around. I know that this is a life changing surgery that requires all of my commitment & determination & I look forward to finally getting the life I so desperatly need & want. I know that this surgery will not take away the asthma, depression, anxiety, joint pain & back pain & problems but I feel that it will aleviate them to the point where I can finally be the wife & mother my family needs me to be & I can participate & enjoy my life & family instead of just watching my life from the side lines. Where I can actually join my kids when they play rather then telling to "go on & mommy will watch." I am so excited to be able to have this surgery & I look forward to be able to have the life I've always dreamed of but could never quite reach & to be able to share my journey & to give & recive the support from all of you.
