I have been overweight most of my adult life. I don't think it has hurt my marriage or my career, but I desperately want to have more energy and ability to play with my daughter, Kelly, who turns nine on November 3 (two days after my surgery).
My husband, Kevin, and I have been married for almost fourteen years. We adopted Kelly at birth. Though I am sure obesity played a role in my infertility, I no longer wish that I could have had a biological child. Kelly could not be more "ours" or more "perfect." She is a funny, sweet, caring girl, and I thank God every day for unanswered prayers. Pregnancy was my plan, but adoption has been the most joyful experience of my life.
I work as a senior executive in government. I got my dream job almost a year ago, and though it is very challenging and often stressful, I feel so lucky. Kevin is a information systems developer.
We live in Washington State (God's Country) in a beautiful home with nearly an acre of land and an in-ground swimming pool in the backyward. I love to swim--fat or thin, but it will be nice to feel better in a bathing suit. We live in the backyard in the summer.
My highest weight is 368. My goal is 160-180.
I am new to this blogging stuff and would welcome "friends."
