Gosh where to begin. I am 32 years young and have been obese pretty much all my life. It started when my parents divorced. Suddenly within one summer I ballooned up, never to return to my "normal" self. It only got worse from there. My mother put me in Weight Watchers when I was 10 and the diets began. So did the yo-yo weight loss ... you know loose 20 and gain 30. After two years of hard core Weight Watchers, coupled with the gym and a personal trainer I was only able to get down about 45-50 pounds. I was at a loss and had pretty much given up. I had gained back all that I had lost and was gaining more (of course!). A friend of mine who had WLS approached me and talked to me about the option. I never knew she had had WLS until that day! So on May 19, 2010 I attended my first seminar at the Nicholson Clinic. On June 16, we submitted all my paperwork to insurance. By July 8 I was having my consulation and scheduling surgery. I believe that God works in mysterious ways and in His perfect timing. How perfect for my friend to talk to me at the beginning of May, just when I was ready to hear the information. The rest of the events have too been in His perfect timing. My original surgery date was on July 19 and was delayed to due complications with my Epilepsy. We now have that under control and I am having surgery on August 2, 2010. I am so excited to get my life back! I am with the most wonderful man (who does not struggle with his weight at all) and I want to be able to enjoy life with him for a very long time.
