Ok...I'm good now

Jul 25, 2013

Getting back on track. Exercising every day with my daughter and doing extra walk or bike ride in the evening with hubby. Eating under control. Not perfect, but better.  I feel now like I can do this again and kick start my weight loss but have to make a more realistic goal. So new goal is to get back below 200!  Wish band forum was not so negative, but found some new friends!

Daughter had her sleeve

Jun 13, 2013

My Daughter had her sleeve on June 10th and did amazing. Home the next day and is walking and sipping. Minimal pain. Gotta love Dr Bass. He's the best surgeon in the world!  My daughter is home from college so I am helping  her with her liquids and actually doing them with her as a means to kick start my weight loss. Again, best wishes to all on the journey!

6 years out

May 30, 2013

I'm back!  Six years out Lapband. Did really well...100 lbs down and maintained for the most part. Lost my Mother in 2011 and have gained some weight back. I'm trying to get back on track. My daughter is pre op gastric sleeve, so I'm joining her in the liquid pre/post op diet to kick start myself and to support her.  This is a forever battle and nothing in life is ever easy!  My best to anyone on "the journey"   whichever one you are on~

3 Year bandiversary

Jan 19, 2010

I'm pretty much where I was last year. Boy, how time does fly. I'm still maintaining at 100 lbs give or take. I'm in a very good spot now, doing my exercise and enjoying my life. I'm wishing EVERYONE success. It is sweet!

2 years out

Jan 07, 2009

I will soon be celebrating my 2 year "bandiversary". I'm trying to maintain my weight loss. I was down over 100 lbs, but have stablized at 95.  That seems to be where I am most comfortable. Still trying to follow the band rules. Exercise is still key and my water. Calories and food choices are a little harder now. I am eating a little more liberally and have to catch myself and keep myself "in order".  Everyday is a new day for me, so even if I am bad...I dust myself off and start over again. That is the magic of the band. Good luck to everyone on their journey.

Down 104 lbs!!

May 14, 2008

I can't believe how long its been since I've posted. I've enjoyed reading my old posts..to realize that I have achieved the goal of 100 lbs down.  The answer was proper restriction and lifestyle changes. I do the exercise, drink lots of water and try to follow the band rules, most of the time. I have such a busy life now and not on the boards as much. I'm working on fixing my picture. Good luck to everyone on their journey.

2nd fill

Apr 16, 2007

OK people...second fill on Thursday...I'm starting on  solid food today. I feel some restriction, I'm at 6cc in a VG 10cc band. I'm hoping to look back on my blog when I finally feel I am losing and at effective restriction. Anyway...down 28 lbs and still feeling like its not coming off fast enough. I am exercising and eating pretty good. If I had to guess I would say I'm probably eating more calories than I think I am. So good luck to eveyone on their journey and I'll let you know how I am doing...NSV...down to size 20 capri's from 26/28 so I am making some progress!

slow going

Mar 28, 2007

I'm trying not to get too discouraged...I have the VG band and only 3cc first fill...so no restriction.  I've lost 25 lbs and I'm happy to have lost but feel I am working SO hard. I hope my next fill on April 12th helps. Good luck to anyone reading this because that means you are on your own weight loss journey!!

On the losing side now

Feb 18, 2007

Hi everyone...one month post op and doing fine. Went thru the "why did I do this to myself" routine for the first few post op days..but once I saw the scale actually move....I was SOLD. I am under 250 for the first time in over 14 years..when I had my daughter!

I'm down 20 lbs now and loving it. Still a long way to go but I have time. I love my band and I have not even had a fill yet. That is set for the first week in March. I'm following the band rules. I'm hungry since the post op swelling is over, but sticking to the 3 small protein meals a day. I'm a little disappointed that I'm not losing faster, esp since I'm eating so little and exercising now....but took a long time to get here, so may take a long time to lose.  The thing I like the best is I don't wake up every morning wondering what diet I will be on next or what new pill or contraption to try today....I have my band...my weight loss tool and I work with that every day...every meal. I love having those thoughts out of my mind...Well..that's all for now. Good luck to everyone on their journey.

pre op liquids

Jan 14, 2007

I'm on day four of the full liquid pre op diet and it is not easy for me.  I thought it would be easier than it is and I'm trying to keep busy in this world of "food".  I can't wait until Thursday and I am hoping after all the surgery and anesthesia, I won't be hungry......lol.  I am just looking forward to moving ahead...getting through this tough part and starting to lose this 100 lbs that has been with me for so many years!!
