"I met my surgeon over 2 years ago when I was thinking about getting the lap-band. He was recommended to me by a few of my co-workers. He was very supportive but I found out the at the time, my insurance only covered the gastric. I did not want to get this surgery so I decided to wait and see if I could lose the weight on my own. After almost 2 years of disappointment of losing and gaining, I reached out to Dx Williams again and scheduled a consultation for the gastric thinking that my insurance still did not cover the lap band. He remembered me and said that if I was still interested in the lap band, the insurance is covering it now and that I am a good candidate for either surgery and that he will support whatever decision I make. He told me to take sometime and research more info about both procedures and then come back to see him. So after 2 weeks of research I knew that the lap-band was what I wanted to do. I really respect the fact that he allowed me to decide what I wanted to do for myself and not decide for me. He is a very cool and down to earth surgeon but will be straight with you also. I haven't had my surgery yet but I feel confident that everything will be OK. "
