I am in the process of going through the requirements needed for insurance approval -- 3 month supervised diet, a 2 year record of my weight, etc.-- in order to have gastric bypass surgery.  My concern is that my BMI has dropped below 40 at points over the past two years though never below 35.  It is now over 40.  I also have high blood pressure and mild sleep apnea.  Point is, I am absolutely terrified that for some reason my insurance will not approve the surgery.  I have great insurance and the staff at the doctor's office doesn't seem nearly as concerned as I am.  I just want to KNOW that this is going to happen.  I want to have a surgery date set and be able to work toward it.  Now, every time I get my hopes up and start to look further out at the life I may have after surgery I feel the need to pull myself back a bit.  Have others been here?
