Seven year anniversary
Aug 14, 2010
Well I am here again, still battling the weight, but hanging in there. I try to walk as much as I can. don't ride my bike, I have been "grounded" from as I fell. Still need to lose the 15 pounds I was talking about last year. It is a struggle each day,but I know I have to work at it. Still is the best gift to my self. Good luck to all who are having or considering the surgery.

6th Anniversary
Aug 13, 2009
Hi, thanks for reminding me of my anniversary. It has been 6 years. My life has changed so much. It has saved my life.
I lost 138 pounds. In those 6 years I have added excercise to my life. I walked 3 miles a day, and rode my bike 4 miles a a day. I have not been able to exercise as much this year because of some foot problems, but I still try to walk some each day. I have gained about 15 pounds back. I still can't drink any milk and that is what I miss. This surgery has allowed me to enjoy my 4 grandchildren who are involved in sports. They are on travel teams so that means I travel wth them. I would never have been able to do this before the surgery. I have been to Disney with them 5 times. Lots of walking and waiting there. I thank God for this surgery ad to he time left to share with my family. I will be 61 in about 6 weeks and thankful for each year I hae added to my life.

5th Anniversary

I am enjoying being thinner than I was 5 years ago. I have have been able to keep most of my weight off. I have gained about 8-10 lbs. back.
I am trying to lose this, but it is hard. I will be turning 60 years old in 3 weeks, and I am still very proud of myself. I don't walk as much as I did, but I can walk about 2 miles each time I walk. I also work 7 hours a day on my feet. I follow my 4 grandchildren around, as they are involved in sports. I think this keeps me "young at heart". We enjoyed a week at Disney in April, which I could never had done before surgery. The quality of my life has been rewarding. Still the BEST thing I have ever done for my self. Good luck to any one thinking about this surgery.
