Had surgery nine days ago!

The surgery was easy compared with some that I have had. I had to stay overnight in the hospital because of the sleep apnea but I was chomping at the bit to come home.
I am doing well, starting to add some "firmer" foods, taking pill form of tylenol for sinus headaches as needed...... all with no problem.
I would do this all over again without hesitation. With the terrific love and support that I have received from my wife and children, and the grace of God, and a terrific sugeon and his staff the process has been straight forward, painless, and easy.
I am amazed at how many people post on this site with questions that were covered three and four times by my surgeon and his staff. Until I started reading some of the questions I don't think I reallized how lucky I was to have chosen a GREAT surgeon and his AWESOME staff. They made sure that I knew what was going to happen and when, what I was getting into, and what wuld be required of me through each step of the process.
I guess the main thing I want to let everyone know is this...... make sure that you have a surgeon who is not only gifted in his sugical skills but also keeps tou informed about everything. I knew what to do at each step of the process.
Keep praying for me and my continued recovery and starting my "new" life.

The Date Has Been Set!!!!!!!!!!

BCBS Alabama has approved everything and the surgery date has been scheduled............. August 28th, 2008! The process was very easy (suprisingly). I have to go to my second meeting/class with the nutritionist next week and go to the hospital for all of the pre-surgery testing (blood work, etc.).
I did not expect the process to go quite this smoothly. I owe a lot to my general practitioner's office and the sugeon's staff. They knew exactly what my insurance required and they put it in checklist firm so all I had to do was check everything off as soon as it was completed and turned in. The surgeon's staff is truly remarkable.
I can't wait for the surgery to be over with and the losing to begin!
