I'm looking into having this surgery done. I have been overweight since about 14yrs old. I have been successful in losing weight in the past only to gain it all back and then some! I hope that this surgery will be the tool I need not only to lose the weight but to KEEP it off!
07/14/03 Well I had the Duodenal Switch surgery on May 19th. I can't believe I'm finally switched! I did have a complication with my bile duct that required another surgery on May 28th but I'm back to work now and feeling better everyday! I have had no problems with eating and have tolerated everything I have tried. So far I have lost 40lbs since surgery. I weigh in again next week. The DS ROCKS!!!
08/19/03 OK I have now lost a total of 58lbs. The doc says he thinks I'm doing great and released me to start an exercise program. I'm going to check out curves!
10/18/03 I have going to Curves for a little over a month now and I LOVE IT!!! I have such a blast and feel great after working out! I've now lost a total of 76 lbs. Finally, I'm under 300 lbs! If I never see that three in front of my weight again it will be TOO soon! lol
10/05/04 WOW! I can't believe its been almost a year since I updated my profile! Where has the time gone? Anyway I have now lost a total of 145 lbs. I am at 229 lbs and still losing albeit a lot slower than last year but at least its still going down :)
I'm hoping that by the time I hit my two year mark that I'll be down under 200 lbs. Even if its 199 I'll be happy! LOL I haven't been to Curves in a couple of months, I need to start going again. Otherwise, I feel great! This was definately the best thing that I have ever done for myself!
02/25/05: Hi all, well I'm down to 214 lbs now I'm 21 months out. I'm still hoping to squeak down by the 200 lb mark by May my 2yr mark. We shall see :)
