9 Months Post Op

It has been a little over 9 months since I had my surgery and still loving every minute of it.  I am running into people that I haven't seen since pre surgery and they don't even recognize me.  I feel great!  I have lots of energy and am a more active part of my children's lives.  I am 1 lb away from goal and actually weigh less than I did when I graduated from high school, I was really thin then.  I am wearing a size 10 pants which I haven't fit into since then.  I do however have a lot of skin hanging and am trying to exercise as much as I can to get rid of it but I know that I will need surgery to get rid of it but it sure beats being overweight anyday.  I love buying new clothes, I shop as consignment shops all the time.  I am more confident with my whole outlook on life.   I am so glad that I made this decision.

I took my 9 year old son to Hersheypark a few weeks ago and had absolutely no problem riding anything this year!  We had a great time!

8 Months Post Op

Wow, it is really hard to believe that it has been 8 months since my surgery.  I am overjoyed at this whole process and major change in my life.  I actually weigh less now than I did when I graduated from High School and I was thin then.  People who I have seen since before the surgery don't recognize me at all until I talk to them.  I feel INCREDIBLE!  This was one of the best decisions that I ever made.  My doctor was very impressed with my loss, in fact he said I was one of their biggest success stories.  My blood work is all good, I am still having problems with dairy products but I have just learned to adjust to that.  I joined match.com at my close friends persistant nagging and met someone.  It is still early in the relationship but he seems to be perfect for me. I am anxious to see where it goes.  I met goal this month.  Right now I am only 3 lbs away from my target weight.

Goal for next month 3 lbs to put me at GOAL weight.

7 Months Post Op

Jul 06, 2008

I am now 7 months post op and loving everyday.  I only lost 4 lbs this month but hey it puts me at 115 lbs down since the surgery and I think that is pretty great.  I have a lot of skin hanging, which I would love to get rid of-mostly my arms and stomach area.  I am happy with the surgery and am glad that I had it.  My son said one day he didn't even recognize me.  I am getting looks from guys now and a lot of compliments.  I feel better myself and really need to get back to the gym.  My goal for next month is 5 lbs.

6 months Post Op

6 months down and I am feeling incredible.  I am getting comments all of the time about how I look and my over all attitude.  I am getting a lot of attention from guys I work with, which really has helped my self esteem.  I am wearing clothes that fit now, instead of all the baggy stuff and wearing heels!  They don't make my feet hurt at all.  I am down 111 lbs, I never thought that at 6 months I would have lost this much weight.  I need to get back to the gym but the boys are playing baseball and that takes up all my time.  I can see my collar bone and feel my hips and ribs.

My goal for next month is to be down another 9 lbs.  I am hoping to reach goal weight by my 8 month anniversary.

5 Months Post Op

Today is my 5 month surgiversary and each day I am happier and happier that I have had the surgery.  I am down 94 lbs, surpassing my goal of 90 lbs this month.  I am wearing a size 16 clothes which I know that I haven't worn in at least the past 10 years.  I have more energy and am actually playing on a church league softball team.  A few little wow's for this month, I am seeing people that I haven't seen in a year and they don't recognize me, I can shop in the regular size clothing section and my oldest son says that I don't stand out in the crowd because of my size, his idea of a comment but hey he is 15.

Weight Goal for next month is to lose 10 more lbs which will put me over 100 lbs lost.  I am only 34 lbs away from my goal weight.

4 Months Post Op

Today is my 4 month surgiversary.  I am so glad that I had the surgery.  People are really noticing my weight loss.  Most people are very supportive, although some people always have something negative to say.  My hair has really started falling out, so I am going to get some Biotin and see if it helps.  Quite a few wow moments this month.  First and most important I am under 200 lbs for the first time in at least 10 years!!!  I can now wrap a regular size towel around my body and nothing is hanging out.  I am playing on the church softball team.  I met goal this month, I am down 79 lbs.

Goal for next month is to lose another 11 lbs.

3 Months Out

3/4/08

Well today is my 3 month anniversary.  A lot of people are noticing my weight loss now.  It only took 66 lbs!  I feel good and have a lot more energy.  I am down 66 lbs as of today.  My goal was to lose 65 lbs so I hit goal.  I am noticing that my whole attitude about eating has changed also.  I have been watching tv shows where people are eating plate fulls of food and it makes me sick to my stomach to think that I was that way and could eat like that.  It also makes me really ashamed of myself.  The first 2 weeks after surgery I honestly thought that maybe I made a mistake because I was in such pain but now I wonder why I didn't do it sooner.  Dairy still makes me sick to my stomach but meat and fruits are still working fine.  I have been going to the gym 3 times a week doing 35 minutes of cardio and then weights.

Goal for next month is 79 lbs.

First Major WOW Moment

Feb 13, 2008

Today a woman I work with asked me if I had been losing weight.  She is the first person to notice who did not know that I had the surgery.  She had been noticing but didn't want to offend me by asking me.  I told her that I had WLS and had lost 54 lbs so far and that I was not offended in fact she had made my day!

2 Months Out

Feb 03, 2008

Today I am at 2 months out.  I hit my goal of 50lbs, well actually I am at 52 lbs.  It has been a rough month, for 2 weeks I was at a stall and that was frustrating but then it picked up again.  I am having a little trouble with dairy, while I don't get sick I do get nauseous.  I just started exercising, my brother gave me a workout plan.  I can/could not have done this without my family!

Goal for next month 65 lbs down.
