I am a 50# LOSER and I love it!!

Jul 31, 2011

Have officially lost 50#, now at 202.  Only 2 more pounds to Onederland!!!  Still have a lot more to go but WOW!!! Biggest thing is the inches are falling off. Thank God for Goodwill or I would be broke.  Just got into 14's and now they are too big. Having clothes falling off (ok that sounds wrong - but hey its what it is) is a problem that I am loving.  So much better then the days when they were always getting too tight.  I am feeling great - having virtually no issues with food. Can eat pretty much anything, just not much, which is fine by me. Off all meds and CPAP, except for what I take for fibromyalgia, but even that seems better.  Have had some stalls, long one at 3 weeks for about 3 weeks, then jsut losing a steady 2 - 3 punds a week, sometimes more sometimes less, I can't complain.  Love this site and the folks on here are such a great support system and source for info. Thanks to all!!

Wish now I had taken better before pics (front & side)  Hate taking pics!! Am guessing htat will change as I get smaller   Hey should make that one of my goals - to enjoy having my pic taken LOL.  Thank you again for all you guys do!!

1 Week Post-op

May 02, 2011

Wow can not believe it has been a week!  I have been very pleasantly surprised at how little pain I have been in and how quickly I can do things. Hubby happy as I am make in the saddle (if you know what i mean...lol).  Really thought recovery would take longer. Anyway, weighed immediatly upon getting home last Wed (despite Dr saying not too) and had gained 5#, but I had been warned, was all the bloating and fluids. All that gone and am down a total of 17# including pre-op.  They only really struggle I am having is with my pills, think I am going to try taking whole, they are small.

HOME!!!

Apr 27, 2011

Home now - have to give a shout to the ladies at 7East at Rex - Raleigh they were wonderful.  I feel great - surgery went "excellent" per my Dr. He was able to do all he wanted and I was in and out very quick and was up walking about an 2 hours after I was in my room.  Some pain, but not near what I expected.  On clear for a week then full clear for a week or so. Have my post up on the 10th - hopefully will be able to do some soft eggs, etc then. I am so excited to finally be on this path with all you other losers

Surgery in the AM!!!!

Apr 24, 2011

Can not believe the big day is just about here. I have been thinking about having this surgery for sooo long it does not really seem real.  I  am so excited but nervous too. My husband just came off vacation - he takes while his daughter can be here for spring break, so has to be at work tomorrow and will not be able to be at the hospital. I don't say anything to him, cause I know he feels bad, but I sure wish he could be.  I just would feel better if he was there.  My boss has convinced me that the office will not fall apart if I am not there, so I am taking 2 weeks off instead of just the one.  Can take more if need, but I really do not want to -- so pray I am able to be going good and can get back to work quickly.  Not sure when I will get to write next but will definitly update all as soon as I can.

April 25th!!!

Apr 13, 2011

Have a surgery date SOOOO excited.  April 25th, wow can not believe it!  Started on my "Liver Reducing Diet" today, ugh....Using the Bariatric Fusion Choc shake - not bad, but have a feeling its is going to be a long few days till I get used to no food .  When they do my bypass they are also going to fix a hiatal hernia and remove my gall bladder.  Anyone have all that done at the same time as well?  If so how was the recovery?  I have so much going on at work that I am only planning on a week and a half to 2 weeks off.  I sit at a desk all day and may be able to work some half days at office and then at home for  the rest. Really nervous about it all.

Starting the road to forever!

Apr 12, 2011

Hello all this is my first post but will not be my last.  My road to this point has been hard with so many potholes it is hard to imagine I am where I am now much less where I am heading.  I have been thru so much been blessed in many things but the price has been high.  I am now in a place that I am so very happy. Have a wonderful husband, magnificent kids, a great job.  I should be on top of the world.  However, my health is in the worse shape it has ever been. I weigh more than ever, my BP is higher, on meds for first time, on a CPAP and have no energy, and can't sleep but can't stay awake.
Now though I am on the way to rest of my life.  Have done all the testing, have the insurance approval and now getting ready to head to the doctor's for my pre-op appointment and will get my surgery date!!
