Ugh...

Jan 13, 2010

I'm finished will all my pre-op work with the exception of one last thing.... I need to lose 15 pounds before I can meet with the NP to review I’ve got everything done and get a surgery date.

In the beginning of December I cut out almost all soda. I used to drink a minimum of 3-32 oz cups per day at work plus 2-3 cans when I got home! I'm down to one, sometimes even just a half of soda now. I’ve stopped eating out at lunch and brining my lunch with me so I can have more control of what I'm eating. We've cut back at home too not eating out as much and having smaller portions. Heck, I've even started exercising... the Wii is kicking the crap out of Mii!

So... my weight for Sept, Oct and Nov didn't change at all; thus the changes in December. I guess that's a good thing as I could have gained weight, right? Today I was so excited to go to the doctor to get weighed I just knew that scale was going to move the right direction. After waiting almost 40 minutes to step on the scale for 2 seconds I lost... are you ready? A whopping half of pound!!! WTH?!?!?! Of course, my first thought is maybe it was the scale. The other times I’ve gone to the local navy base to get weighted they used the old slider scale; today they used a digital scale that they had to dust off before I got on.

Although I am frustrated with myself, the scale, and everyone else at this point I'm going to stay on track. After all 15 pounds really isn't that much, but it doesn't seem to want to leave. Maybe those pounds know that they are never coming back so they’re gonna be a pain in the wazoo to get rid of!!
Instead of waiting another month to get weighed I’m going to go back in two weeks and have see what a non-digital scale says… I better see progress!!!

Not so bad...

Oct 02, 2009

I went to my appointments on the 21st. The appointments went very well... the nutritionist didn't tell me anything I didn't already know, but I bet that's the case for most of us. We know what were supposed to eat and not eat, we know what exercise we need to do.... it's just a matter of someone else telling you and you actually doing it!

The appointment with the psychologist went well too... her only concern was the distance I live from the hospital where the support group meets. Hopefully, I'll be able to make it over for one or two meetings... if not I always have my OH friends, I hope!!

Also, had my labs done while I was at the doctors office... was going to go for chest xrays and EKG, but I was coming down with a cold and figured it could wait for another day.

Now it's time to get to work and start shedding some of this weight before I get an actual surgery date... I need to lose between 15 and 20 pounds. It's not a huge amount, but I'm worried about the length of time it may take to get it off. I would love to have surgery late this year or early next year... So I better get moving and grooving!!!

That's all for now... hope everyone is doing well!

Take care!!

Anxiously waiting...

Sep 19, 2009

I'm off the my first appointment with the nutritionist and psychiatrist on Monday... A little nervous about both appointments. Actually, I'm not sure nervous is the right feeling. I guess I'm more anxious then anything else. I'm not really sure what the expect at either appointment... will let you know how it goes.
