Well I guess my start is like everyone else's.  I was called the Refrigerator in High School because I always asked for some of what folks were eating.  I have been big all my life however, after getting married I really put the pounds on and I would say let myself go and I hit my all time high which for me was my all time low in my life this past year.  I had looked into WLS 3 years ago when my girlfriend had hers but I wasn't "mentally ready".  I have watched her lose and I have always been happy for her and I said hey I can do this now.  I tried last year but I needed to attend a 12 month weight management class first before my HMO would approve surgery.  Well you know what I did, I changed my insurance during open enrollment to BCBS paid that high azz deductable so that I could get approved and in the meantime, I gained like 15- 20 more pounds during that year.  It didn't help to lose My Daddy one week before his birthday on 11/17/06 and to make matters worst, one of my best college soror's, my line sister was killed 3 days later on her job as a pharmacist by a disgruntle customer.  I have had a very bad Holiday Season.  The only thing I had to look forward to was my WLS, my journey is as followed:

I have been approved for surgery by BCBS/PPO since October, however, I had a 7 day cruise planned for December and didn't want to interfere with any of that incase there were problems.  I scheduled my first date for Dec 20th then I thought about the holidays and "partying" and New Years Eve so I called Barix and rescheduled for the New Year.   I knew that the Lord would not have given my the strength to get through recovery from surgery with all of that on my plate.  Anyway, I waited patiently for January 10th to come.  They told me at Pre Testing not to drink ANYMORE until surgery - I did on New Years but not much.  I did do the liquid diet the day before but got confused and did eat some strained cream soup and sugar free pudding but I was ok the next day as I made sure I cleaned my system out the day before.

I had my Laproscopic Gastic Bypass on Jan 10 at Barix Clinic by Dr. Poplawski and I am at home trying to get rid of this GAS!!!! I will keep you posted on my progress.
