5 Weeks Post Op-Staying Focused.

Jan 26, 2011

Hi OH! I hope all is well with everyone, and Congrats to all the recent folks, that have gotten approved for weight loss surgery, its a great feeling of accomplishment, and congrats to all those that are post op, you are now on the Loser's Bench-woohoo, now let the games begin it's a whole new ball game, I had to rethink the food cravings, and let go off old habits that caused me to become morbid obese, and now, Im learning how to eat healthy, and excercise, and enjoy my new life and improved health, I thank God for giving me the desire and the strength to endure ME! the challenges and changes! that comes with wl surgery, its not easy at all, but! its only as hard as I make it. For me this is a Life time Achievement "movement" that I have embarked on, and Im so glad about it, I cant deny that I struggle some days more than others, but I take it and deal and cope with it minute by minute, Im still struggling through the liquid proteins, and Im 5 weeks post op, those are Doctors order/recommendation, I can have mushies twice a week (lol), of course Im not happy about it, and yes I do get and be hungry, so I search deep down to pull out that inner strength to tolerate and endure, its like any other addiction, getting passed those stumbling blocks, I have to be able to cook dinner for my family and not over indulge and to make good food choices, and dont let food commercials, get the best of me, are when Im alone cheating with food. I have to be able stand for healthy changes, are I'll be morbid obese again!, I wanna Thank the Lord for the ability to Endure, and strength and Encouragement. I am Standing Strong for Me, I am Loving Me, so I can let my light shine, and to be a Blessing to others, I think thats what its all about, so everyone I just wanted to just express some thought to how I feel about the way I feel, thank you for taking the time out to read about my Journey, God Bless You with the Best of Health, Love Peace and Happiness.

Sunday Update, to WL Journey w/Realize Band

Jan 09, 2011

Hi OH, I hope all is well with all my wl friends here on OH, and that this New Year, has been a blessing thus far, I just wanna share some of my Post-Op decisions and daily events, I am currently on my ALL LIQUID Diet, and will be so until Jan 18, 2011, it will be a month come this Tuesday Jan 11, 2011 know thats including my 2week pre op all liquid, plus my surgeon required 4weeks post op all liquid, and prior to the pre op I had a week of a liver shrinking diet, so to add this all up, it will be 1-month and 2-weeks of all liquids, its extremely tough, I wasn't aware my surgeon would have a post op diet like this, but however I am adhering to my diet, let me tell you its not easy at all but I just take it one day at a time, but the good news that keeps me pressing on with the diet is my wl,  I've lost 11lbs since surgery on 12/21/10, and a total wl since my pre op appt/surgery scheduled day I weighed in at 246lbs, and now ***224lbs-yeahhhh, plus Im walking 1/2 mile/30 minutes everyday, so I am reaping the benefits, and I have no fill in my Realize band yet, and I probably want get one for atleast another month, because I am managing my wl and appetite, no doubt I do get hungry, but Praise the Lord, he works it out and Im not hurting with hunger pains, so thats my update, I had a blessed day at Church today, the serman message was "COMMIT TO THE CAUSE,-AMEN", so all my new wl friends, think about it, I am going to Commit to the cause-wow, ok, you all have a wonderful and Blessed week, Best Wishes.

Day 9 Post Op (Realize Band)

Dec 29, 2010

Hi everyone, I hope all is well with all, I'm doing ok this day, I have 3 more weeks of Liquid/clear diet, this is liquid is tearing up my stomach, Im so burnt out on this liquid diet, however its ok for now, because my pouch is still healing, but I do get more hungry than previous days, so I have to remember that my stomach is healing, my surgeon dont want her patients to eat thick liquids/mushies worries about the band not seaingl itself in place, I totally understand, but 3 more weeks, of straight liquids, I cant even begin to say I will stick to the liquid because I want, its kinda overdoing it, now my stomach is tore up and the liquids are going right through me,  so It all comes down to how I take care of my pouch, so those are my 9th day post op woe's, it'll get greater later, and thanks for taking the time to read my blogs.
Best Wishes.

5 Days of Post Op w/Realize Band

Dec 26, 2010

Hi everyone! just wanted to blog a little of how I'm doing and feeling now that I'm 5 days out from my surgery {Realize band}, well each day I feel better overall, but! I am starting to have more hunger feelings, so I'll eat a sugarfree pudding, and at first I could only dip and lick the pudding off the spoon, then I could dip tiny amounts on the spoon, and I think day 3, I was up to eating 1/2 pre pack pudding cups, and yestersday 'Christmas day" after smelling Gumbo cooking for hours, I was able to eat all of 1 pre packed pudding cup, now it took me about, 20 to 25 minutes or so I actually didn't time myself, so today is better, the incisions are doing and looking alot better today, and and since surgery I am down 5lbs, so Im happy about that, my family is support is great, Im able to feel my port alot more, very diffrent feeling, also Im still on liquids of course, its really hard trying to get 64oz down and including 60gr to 80grams of protein, oh yeah I did have a 25gram protein shake yesterday evening, I felt compelled to have one, mine you I've been drinking them well over a month on liver shrinking and pre op diets!, so if anyone have any suggestions to complete the required protein and 64oz of water, other than the obvious I would appreciate any suggestions you all may have, and I hope everyone had a Merry Christmas.

As of December 21st, I am Banded w/The Realize Band.

Dec 23, 2010

Hi, everone, this is just a quick update on my lapband post op, Im doing ok, everyday I seem to be a little better, my surgery was a good success, with no complications, I had the option of stqying in the hospital overnight, but I chose to come home that night, so I was in my private room, which was nice, by the way. my surgery was at 7:15a, and I was in a bariatric unit in the hospital which was great, and there were 4 are 5 other bariatric patients post op as well, so I decided to go home at 10:30pm, so I was there seems like for ever but only 14 hours or so, I just really wanted to be at home in my bed in my world:), I do have a mild headache, which is probably from lack of coffee! and of course Im sore, i have 5 incisions, one is very large, and its on my pregnancy stretch mark area! and it looks a mess, my surgeon used some type of body glue to seal the incisions, and so far so good, and this is day 2 post op, Im able to move around, to get my liquids, I do have intergestion seems like when I walk and talk at the same time, so I focus on my Deep Breathing and it seems to help, so thats a brief update on my Lapband surgery with the Realize Band, on December 21st 2010 @ 7:15am @ Alvaroda Hospital "Center of Excellence", in San Diego Ca.
Best Wishes to all, and Merry Christmas.
God Bless you<><

Dec 14, 2010
