Methodist Specialty and Transplant Hospital

"I felt that if my husband had not been allowed to stay with me I would not have received the medical attention that I needed. Most of the time he had to go in search of nursing staff to get any assistance at all. We are encouraged to walk after surgery in hallway and around nurses station which while I was there was loaded down with cookies and candies. I felt this was very insensitive to post surgery patients, but ESP WLS. The menu (that I was not given any choices on) had sugar in the drinks and caffenated ice tea (ouch). Housekeeping was barely done if at all. Blood draws were horrible and they never could find anyone that could do it without stabbing and digging. Overall not a good experience. There were a couple of wonderful nurses on the pm/night shift, but most were busy with something else somewhere else."

Nilesh A. Patel

"My first impression of Dr Patel was that he was very friendly, knowledgable and was willing to take however long I needed for all of my questions to be answered. One of the things I like best was the fact that he never spoke down to me, but treated me with respect and dignity and seemed to appreciate the fact that I had researched WLS and knew what I was talking about. At first his office staff seemed kind of hard to get hold of, but now that I am actually his patient that doesn't seem to be an issue. Aftercare seems to be very important to him and his staff and he includes lifetime aftercare with his surgery. I haven't had my surgery yet so will write more then."
