Well, I first realized I needed to drastically change my life when everything became a challenge for me and I never seemed to be satisfied with anything. I could tell it was affecting my relationship with my boyfriend and with myself. I was completely disgusted in myself and verbalized it frequently to him. He has always told me how beautiful I am no matter what I weighed and I know it hurt him to hear me be so hard on myself. So in September 2009 I made an appointment with my PCP and she gave me a recommendation for Park Nicollet to see a specialist. I jumped through hoops and played their games (which I know some are necessary) and was approved in December. It was worth the money and time. On January 19th, 2010 I had my surgery. It was one of the greatest decisions I ever made. The process actually was a lot quicker than I thought it would be. My family and friends were extremely supportive since day 1 and most of them were there in the waiting room the day of my surgery. My Mom even spent the night with me so I wouldn't be alone my first night (It was my first surgery and night in a hospital).  It's now been over a year and I'm thrilled with the outcome of my surgery. I didn't expect to lose this much weight, but I'm ecstatic I have! I only have a short way to go until I've reached my ultimate goal. Then I'd like to start looking at plastic surgery to remove excess skin and getting breast implants. I'm still young and have a full life ahead of me.

I'd really like to thank my Mom for being so supportive and an inspiration to me.

I'd also like to thank Kevin for taking care of me when I was so down and pushing me to better myself and my life; without his motivation I don't think I would be this happy.

I'm truly blessed with amazing family and friends.
