I'm sure it is similar to everyones, which is why we're all here together, but here goes.
I have been obese for as long as I can remember. My mom tells me I wasn't when I was little, but I can remember being in 6th grade and on a diet. Anyway, it has been a long time and multiple diets to get me where I am. I have checked into gastric bypass before, but have never had an insurance that would pay for it. Recently after watching an episode of Big Medicine on TLC where he performed a lapband I decided to check into that and see if my insurance would pay. Amazingly enough I was told right off that they pay for bariatric surgery as they would any other surgery. Hello, what have I been waiting for? Anyway, after researching further I found this website and it has been hugely helpful. I was able to look closer at the doctors that are in my network (which after further discussion I have found is the only way my insurance will pay.) I am excited about this surgery and this site. They both are the answers to many prayers and tearful nights. I can't wait to get to know everyone and hear everyone's stories
