Louise, At the top of the message board page, there is a place called 'Your Journey' click it. Then click the 'foot' that says insurance troubles. I think that you will tind the help that you need there! Good Luck and God Bless!

I, too, had my insurance cancel their approval one and a half weeks before my scheduled surgery date. My sister was actually in the operating room when the staff at the hospital caught the fact that her Medicare only covers the hospital bill and her co-insurance wouldn't pay for the rest. She had to sign up for Medicare part B...it will be July before it kicks in. Anyway, I finally got approval by filing my own appeal and then 'hounding' them to death! However, you may want to talk with your surgeons office, they may take care of the appeal for you...some do. My insurance was 'debating' the 'medical necessity' clause. At one point, the person at the insurance sompany told me flat out that they were not allowed to give out the actual regulations regarding weight limits for this surgery.
