I wanted to wish you well with your upcoming surgery. I hope that all goes well and that you are up and out and about real soon. I'll bet you are are doing a happy dance accompanied by a bundle of unwanted "NERVES", but don't worry be HAPPY! You are in my thoughts and prayers. Good Luck!

On August 15th I went for part of my preop testing. I started out at 8:30 Am and went to CMC in Scranton to meet with Marie the Dietician. She was very nice and super informative. She explained to me that being I am insulin resistant I have a form of diabetes, which I was never told. She also explained that because of this my body only uses a percentage of the insulin I make and then my brain tells my body to store the food. Which is contributing to my being overweight. I had known that PCOS and my obesity were connected but never knew how and she cleared that up. She also was a comfort when it came to my postop diet. I had thought that Carbs would be gone from my diet and to the contrary she wants me to have atleast 6 servings of carbs a day. So needless to say I learned alot from her. She was very helpful and says she will most likely be seeing me in the hospital too. Then at 10:15 I had to go to Mercy in Scranton for an Endoscope, which I was a bundle of nerves over but the test was ok. I don't remember anything about it really. I do remember my surgeons assistant yelling at me (she said she didnt yell just spoke firmly LOL) apparently I thought I couldnt breathe. She said once I realized I could still breathe I calmed down and the rest was a breeze. I sure hope so I didnt want to be a pain to Dr Peters. After that we went to eat because I hadnt had anything since 11 pm the night before. Then at 3:00pm I was back at Mercy for my pulmonary function test. This was also a breeze. Now I am done until 9/3. On that day I will head back to CMC for blood tests, EKG, and Chest X-ray. Will update more later.
