Hey Lily , Stick to your guns and go with your own gut feelings ... only you and God know what the two of you have discussed and the conclusions you've come to... people mean well but they just do not understand the daily anguish it is to live as an obese person .. nor do they understand the anguish of having tried and failed at many diets ... it's a risk for sure to have the surgery .. but a balanced one considering most of us have co-morbidities that could kill us eventually anyhow ... don't let anyone steal your joy... i've quit telling people ... becasue the people who love me are supportive and the others aren't important enough to listen to ... and you've done your research!!! hang in there and may the peace of God bring you comfort and see you thru this journey!!! as for me ... i wish i had skipped my 6 trips to weight watchers and done this first ... not that it isn't a fine program ... it just doesn't give us the tool we need for long term loss... love and hugs Barbara

Hi Lily. Greetings from up north in Miami! I see you have picked Verdeja as a surgeon. You're in great hands. Gonzalez was my surgeon but all three of them are fantastic. Have you been to any support group meetings at South Miami Hospital? I had my surgery 12/3/01 and am down 95 lbs! Let me know if you have any questions. Have a great day!
