Hello:  There is a Walk from Obesity scheduled September 25, 2010 www.walkfromobesity.com then click on join a walk click on Pennsauken NJ. The walk is Challenge Grove Park on Caldwell and Brace roads in Cherry Hill, NJ down the street from Kaminski's. I am walking with "Team Kennedy". We should have lots of fun and meet new people, I did the walk in Abington PA last year and met a lot of people on the losers bench, those who have had the surgery, want the surgery or just want to walk. You raise money for awareness for Obesity. Even kids can join the walk, my 10 yr old niece joined the Kennedy group last year and we had a blast. So come join us on September 25th meet the Bariatric Doctors from Kennedy Health Systems. See you there!! Also there will be several vendors showing Bariatric foods, vitamins etc.

Glendora Rescue Squad in Gloucester Twp. is hosting a Beef & Beer fund raising event- Saturday May 15, 2010 @7:00 PM. American Legion- Chews Landing Road off of Black Horse Pike and Lower Landing road in Gloucester Township. Round Boy Jimmy will be one of the Comedians. I work as an Emergency Medical Tech a few nights a wk. Monday we had a call for a 9yr old w/behavior issues, we transport him to local hosp. he gives us trouble from beginning cursing up a storm called me an old BI***, we get to the hosp. and he bolts out the back of the amb. and proceeds to run for 2 blocks before we get him. My partner is 4 steps behind him and I am 2 steps behind her, I didn't realize I could run that fast and far w/o getting out of breath or slowing down.

Congratulations goes out to Kennedy Health Systems, Stratford New Jersey for being awarded the Center of Excellence. Alot of hard work went into being a Center of Excellence for Bariatric Surgery, Thanks goes out to Drs. Marc A. Neff , Louis Basalma , Coordinator Lisa Shaw RN CBN and all the great operating room personnel and the nurses on 4E and ICU.  Today Monday 2/1/10 Kennedy is having a gathering at the Stratford Hospital on Laurel Road to show appreciation of becoming the Center of Excellence, come out and meet some of the great people who helped make Kennedy Bariatric the Center of Excellence between 1:30 P.M. and 3:00 P.M. today Monday February 2, 2010 .

I cannot believe the 29th of this month will be 2 years sinc my RNY surgery, Dr. Marc Neff gave me a new life and I thank him and his staff for all they have done to help me with the surgery, problems and solutions. I am down 120lbs and have been at a plateau now for about 6 months. So I guess this is the weight I am suppose to be at (165-168lbs) although I wish I could get to the ideal weight of 150 lbs.  I am satisfied in my new life and feel 1million percent better than I did 2 years ago. I have said before that I should have done this surgery many years ago but I wouldn't have found the great surgeon I found at Kennedy Health Systems in New Jersey or the great friends I have found here at OH or at the support group I attend monthly. I attend the meetings monthly to keep me in line with losing weight and to help others on their journey to weight loss.  Thanks to my family, Dr. Neff, Tinamarie and my new friends.

Had a busy weekend. Went to a baby shower all those canoli's and sweet desserts UG But I am proud, I did not take one canoli (afraid of any after effects this would have) I had a small piece of cake and took off all the icing. My sister said You are not eating the best part. "No Thanks, it's not for me." So she ate the icing (she is very thin and can afford to eat icing and any dessert. Ate small potions of different foods, meatballs, some potato and coleslaw salads. Then Sunday went walking through the mall with my Mom spend quality time with her. My sister invited me for dinner but I had fish, squash and sweet potato's at home and ate some of this and saved the rest for my meal today. I used a shredder to shred the sweet potato's bought that to a boil in microwave w/ water then added tsp of butter and a small  amt of splenda brown sugar this was good. Squash I added small amt of butter and cooked in a pan and had Paco fish baked.  

This coming weekend I am doing the Walk for Obesity at the Abbington Medical Center, then off to a wedding. I have a choice of 2 dresses to wear both fancy and dressy. Can't wait to dress up and dance the night away.

On July 27th I had 2 surgery's done at Methodist Hospital in Phila. What a great group of Doctors, Nurses and staff. I had 1. Uvulopalatopharynogoplasty (I'll explain) and 2. a neck lift. Dr. Tasos did both surgeries . The Uvulopala... surgery entailed removal of both tonsils, uvula and thinning the pallet, by the back of the throat.  This will help with sleep apnea (I hope). It leaves you with a sore throat for about 2-3 weeksand the neck lift left me bruised a bit.  I took 6 days vacation , really should have taken 2 weeks but not much time left in vacation due to unexpected gallbladder surgery last month done by Dr. Neff. The neck although bruised is looking good and tightening up a little everyday, swelling occasionally. The throat remains sore, but I was told this would happen. 

I won't know about the sleep apnea until I get retested in October. But if you need a good/great Facial Reconstruction doctor then Dr. Tasos Alsanidis is the one for you. He is also and Ear Nose and Throat Doctor who has office in Turnersville, NJ, Phila and Marlton. Dr. A and I go back quite a few years as he did the reconstruction on my L nasal area because I had basal cell carcinoma which was extensive and needed the left nare/nasal area reconstructed, he did a great job then and a great job on my neck left. I am feeling good and my new look and loss of a few more punds is agreeing with me.
