I like so many others have struggled with weight for as long as I can remember.  I was born 1 month early at 6 pounds 1ounce but had doubled my weight at 1 month old and tripled by 3 mos of age.  I was always heavy in the mid section looked like a beer belly.  My Mom always said I wasn't fat I was husky. At age 14 my weight seemed to level out.  I was still heavier than my friends but not too overweight.  My senior year of high school was my skinniest I weighed about 135 pounds and wore a size 7.  Of course, I ate very little food and smoked cigarettes and drank tons of diet coke.  At age 18, I worked 2 jobs and was on my feet 12 hours a day. My weight started to climb again at age 20 after taking an office job. I weighed 180 pounds and went to a diet doctor.  The diet doctor put me on drugs, basically speed in a bottle, and gave me a shot of what he said was B12,  who knows what was in the shot.  In 2 months I was down to 155.  About a year later at age 21, I was still in the 155-165 range but my face started breaking out and my period became irregular. At age 23, I was approx. 165-170 pounds.  I got married in April, by July my period stopped and by October I was up to 200 pounds.  They ran every blood test known to man, did an ultrasound, and determined I had PolyCystic Ovary Syndrome.  My period to this day, 18 years later, has never returned without taking meds to bring it on.  At age 25 I took fertility drugs and was able to conceive.  My daughter was born 2 months premature at 4 pounds 5 ounces and passed away at the age of 4 months from complications associated with her prematurity.  I weighed 238 when I delivered her and about 218 after she passed away. I had a muscle biopsy after my daughter passed away due to some muscle weekness that she demonstrated and they determined that I had a neurological muscle disorder, perhaps Mitochondrial Myopathy which could have attibuted to the death of my daughter.  At age 27 and 228 pounds, I took fertility drugs again and conceived my son.  After 12 weeks on bed rest,I delivered him 4 weeks early he was 6 pounds 15 ounces and healthy enough to come right home.  At age 29, and 238 pounds,  I took fertility drugs again and conceived my 2nd son.  Again I was on bed rest, I delivered him 5 1/2 weeks premature at 5 pounds 9 ounces and he had to stay a few weeks in the NICU for Jaundice and Breathing problems.  So needless to say, it brought back too many memories from my daughters stay in the NICU and I decided 2 boys were a big enough family for me.  After delivering my son, my weight was 255 which it pretty much stayed give or take a few pounds for 11 years.  This year my weight climbed and other medical problems started popping up, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, snoring, and joint pain.  At my August 15th visit to the Surgeon,  my weight was the highest ever at 272.6 pounds.  I decided I needed medical intervention and started my journey towards banding.
