One Week Post Op Visit

After a very long 7 days, DH and I head back to Tulsa. This time, he has a Dr appointment to have his vericose veins looked at. We are late for his appointment by about 30 minutes and I end up driving myself to my appointment after dropping him off.
I get to my Dr's office and put on the lovely paper gown and lay down on the dental chair that faces the door of the room. Someone should mention the possibility of turning the thing around for a modicum of privacy for those that are having something other than Zoom Whitening done.
The nurse comes in and questions me about pain and who was with me, how was the week, etc. She was not happy about me driving myself from the other appointment, but it's not like there was much that could be done. Since I have had very little drainage, I am able to get my drains out today!! WhoooooHooo! Although they have not been terrible, they are certainly not my favorite things.
Now can I just say that if I had known how bad it would hurt to get the drains out, I would have had DH skip his appt and made sure that I had given myself a couple of pain pills and maybe a valium. It was the most pain I had felt the entire time. Wow, I was crying and screaming every 4 letter word I knew. When they were out, the nurse backs out of the room saying, I'll just let you relax a little... RELAX??? I was gripping the arms of the dental chair like I was getting a cavity filled and still crying.
The Dr comes sweeping in about 3 minutes later and I am in the exact same position as when the nurse left. He admires the scar and tells me that I need to squish my boobs together (demonstrates it as well) for a minute twice a day and press down on my left one also to help it lower to be in line with the right. He tells me that although it looks rough now, I will LOVE him in a month. Man, I sure hope he's right.
