Hi fellow AMOS memebers. I just wanted to thank everyone (especially Carin Sutton) for all of their well wishes and prayers that went out to me during my recent surgery (7-19-2000). I did fine during my surgery and only had a small problem with my blood pressure going way low in recovery. This is not a new thing and Dr. Poplawski was aware of it and prepared for it. The only onther problem that I had was getting a case of the dry heaves after taking a Darvocet orally. But ever that didn't slow me down. I was still able to come home today and have been doing great. We have been home for almost 2 hours and all is going well. I can not say enough good things about Addison Community Hospital and all of the staff there. My husband had made arrangements to stay at a motel while I was in the hospital. His cousing called and asked him to stay with them, so he cancelled his reservations only to find out that his cousin got called out of town, so he had no where to stay. There is a NASCAR race in Addison this weekend so there was no way he could get a room. He planned to stay in our van and that is what he did the first night. The next day they came to my room and asked me if I would like to be moved into another room where my husband could sleep in there with me. DID I??? They were teasing us about staying in the "Honeymoom Suite"! It sure was nice for him to be there in a bed by my side. I have not had anything for pain in almost 24 hours and it is only the 4th day. I feel really good. Take care and all of those who are having surgery this next week.......good luck and you're in my prayers.

Hi everybody, I just got back from Addison, it is 12:50 Am. here. I was so thrilled and Honored to meet Kathy and Dan in person. They are absolutely the nicest people. Kathy, had been up walking just before I got there at 7:30 P.M. Her surgery was at noon. They said her Oxeygon, and blood pressure were good. Dan gave her some ice chips while I was there. Folks she is doing so good, like Dan said , What a trooper. I gave her the card from all of you, and I saw a little tear out of the corner of her eye. She said to tell everyone hi, and prayers and well wishes for all. She then hit the pain pump a couple of times , and I bid them farwell as she was starting to dose. Remember Dan had his surgery 5 weeks ago, so he is really a great help to Kathy and so supportive. I truly feel blessed from meeting them, and our Dear Kathy is doing very well , and handling the pain well. If Dan calls with an update, I will pass this on to all of you. Kathy says she won't be away from the computor long.

I live in Cadillac, Mich. It would be long distance , but I could do this. Just let me know who to talk to. Lots of luck and prayers, Carin

Congratulations Kathy on your upcoming surgery. Soon that 'daily struggle' will be no more. I, like you am tall and 320, so everyone tells me, I carry it so well, it's not that bad. They don't know do they. Well soon you'll be on you way to a new healthier life. Best wishes and prayers for a speedy recovery too.
