Congratulations, By the time you read this your surgery will have been completed and you are now officially a "lap bander" on the loser's bench with the rest of us. It is going to be an increadible journey and one that can dramatically transform your life. IN THE NEXT FEW DAYS AND WEEKS YOUR NUMBER 1 GOAL IS TO RECOVER AND HEAL. Keep posting and reading the message board at OH and you will discover great friends and very helpful advice. Take the time to offer encouragement to others, share your trials & tribulations and "play it forward". Rest, sip, walk, rest, sip, walk. Hey girl - don't worry if you have some pain when you wake up! I suspected the nurses were secretly hoarding my pain medication, but it got a lot better after the first day. Welcome to this phase of the journey - I hope your life is wonderful. I know this made all the difference in mine. XO Kitty

I hope you're feeling better by the time you're reading this!!! Make sure to walk, drink fluids and rest after surgery. It makes a world of difference!

According to her husband Jeff, she went into surgery at around 8am EST. I will post an update to her condition as soon as she wakes up.

It will all be a blurr by the time they get you in the pre-op room to the OR to the recovery room. You will do great! Just relax and know you are doing this for your health! Good luck!

hey there! I wanted you to know that being nervous is normal right now. Don't let that bother you. Just keep in mind that you're doing this for all the right reasons and that you're going to be fine. I'll be keeping you in my thoughts tomorrow and hoping that the surgery goes well and the recovery is fast and easy. It's worth it, I swear. :)
