Sleeved

Aug 10, 2012

Omg!! I am not believe I am now four days post op.. I would not say my surgery was bad. I did wake up in a lot of pain but it was not from my stomach but my back. Walking after surgery was not hard I needed assistance only once. I was extremely thirsty out of surgery though. Not having anything after was the pits. Day two was awesome I had popsickles.. and I ce chips nothing else would seem to go down. I walk alot and the my nurse who was mazing was shocked. my only problem was that I could not pee after surgery and they would not let me go home until I did. I did pee on wednesday though they say it was an effect of the anesesia (sp).. I really enjoyed my handy dandy morephine pump.. It kept me mellow.. my mom said it made me free with the lips.. I cursed alot and I never curse.  Lafayette General was the best hospital though.. I had my own room and bathroom.. it was clean, I knew the names of my nurse, my cna, my meal delivery person, my housekeeper., the lead nurse, etc. The were timely and got me whatever I need.. for example a hot pack for my pack and extra blankets. i also had a friend on my floor from pre op education and it was cool. My mom got to interact with his family and I think it made he more understanding.. My first day at home was horrible I was nervous and missed the hospital because I could not get comfortable.. My sister was a doll.. lil my own little nurse so that was a plus but other than that I could not get anything in me.. no water popsickles not ever my meds.  The next day was better I was able to get a popsickles down. Today has been great I got in a 3 oz of a smootie from smootie king.. and I ate 2 popsicles all my meds and vitamin water, i also kinda cheated and sucked on 5 cheetos they were so good..lol.. I also had half a 42 gram protien shot. Over all the worst thing is gas attacks, this drainage thingy and my inability to bathe on my own. Other than that I am completely excited to see how much more I have lost.I dont have a scale at hone because I dont want to be obseesed with it. I can tell I am smaller though I bought some extra large men's t-shirts and they are kinda too big. :)

I lost over 10lbs

Aug 01, 2012

So I am so ecited!!! Yesterday was my pre-op appointment for my surgery date which is in 5 days and umm I lost 10.9 lbs since my  pre-op education class on 07/17/2012. I started my pre-op diet the very next day instead of on 07/23/2012 and I see my hard work is paying off. I thought it would be so much more difficult limiting carbs for a week and having none for the second week however I am not really having trouble complying and people are already starting to notice my weight loss. I also find that my feet or no sweeling as much and my blood pressure is returning to normal numbers. I did not really work out much unless you count moving, which is much more moving than I am use to. I do plan to work out tomorrow and Saturday though. I am so excited about Monday.. Although I see my life beginning again already. I also was neverous about protien shakes however I tried one this morning and it was great. I was full and had no need for breakfast. I am just oh so excited!! :)

Pre-Op Diet and etc etc....

Jul 18, 2012

Okay so yesterday I went to Pre-Op educational classes, and I meet a great girl around my age who is having the sleeve. I thought I would have been bored because I had read everything but I learned alot. I am scheduled to start my pre-op diet next week, however  it was not that bad so I decided to start it yesteday. I figure it could not hurt anything. It was funny though because those who had to start yesterday were like man and those who have to start with me were all like I am gonna eat my butt of these next couple days. I thought everyone would be excited to back away from the table in hope of a new life, or maybe they just want it the easy way and I am compulsive with it... Anywho... with each day that passes I get more and more excited about beginning my new healthy life.. Goal #1 after loosing weight.. Amusement Park!!!
