Hello this is my weight loss journey! I live in NJ and currently weigh 279 lbs! I am looking for a surgeon that accepts my insurance (Tricare) without dinging me lots for out of pocket expenses, and right now im a little discouraged. Met with 2 surgeons tonite at a weight loss seminar, got excited, soooo ready to roll, only to have the surgeon tell me that my insurance was horrible HORRIBLE at reimbursing (worse than Medicare) and that I would probably be paying out of pocket and arranging financing thru his office. holymoley!! as if I don't have enough debt already!! So on the drive home im trying to decide between being fat and poor... or thin and poorer!! So if anyone out there reading this knows of any decent surgeons who accept Tricare--please email me so I can continue my journey!!

Searching like crazy for a surgeon who will accept my insurance with minimal out of pocket expenses--thanks to everyone who answered and are still answering my many questions--you guys are faboo!! I have been reading and have been inspired by so many stories, so many people--I can't wait to have more of a story to share!

Ive been back and forth with my insurance company. They approved me for a surgical referral-- but to a general surgeon!! Not the one I chose (a bariatric specialist) because he was not in network. And when I asked for a surgeon (bariatric) in network-- they didn't know what to look for. Finally I had to do some SERIOUS research myself and-- HOORAY HOORAY ive found 5 surgeons in network--2 of which are on this site. This is finally happening for me. Im soooo happy!! Thanks again to all who have given me advice and encouragement!!
