At an early age that I can remember I was an obese child. At puberty I was diagnosed with poly cystic ovaries and was put under birth control most of my young life, which played a big part in how bigger I became. I would have my menstrual period for a period of 3 monthly without stopping. I was unable to have any type of life because I was always hemorrhaging. My weight skyrocket to the point that I would not go out from my own home. To fill the emptiness that I felt inside I would lock myself in a room and eat myself to pity. I tried to take control of my life many times by taking diet pills, trying diet plans, but I would always fall back to my obese weight. As time went by at the age of 24 I was 318lbs but miraculously I met my beautiful husband who fell in love with me even though I was obese. I began to hrive to become healthier but every moment I was going to put a foot in the door of having the lab-band done I would procrastinate and not follow through of at least picking up the phone and making an appointment. On October of 2008 I met a good friend of mine Sandra which was researching in having the lap-band done and just gave me the enough umph to take control of my life. She gave me all the information that I needed and so I made an appointment to see Dr. Karl Strom. I don't regret having this done. My surgery was on May 6 at Mountainside Hospital, and was given the best of care. 6 days after my surgery I am becoming happy.
