I'm currently 56 years old, fat, female, diabetic, the usual ailments that come from being fat and having a grandmother who was the same.  At any rate, I started getting fat in college (although I had been told all my childhood I was fat - typical.  I look at pictures...no, I wasn't.  I had a fat-phobic mother.   But I've forgiven her.) and, like everybody else, have yo-yo dieted all my adult life without any long-lasting results.  Anyway, after much research I made the decision last year  to pursue gastric bypass.  I  have a goal: to weigh what my driver's license still says I weigh (Highway patrol license renewal person: "Has anything changed on your driver's license?"  I figure it's really none of their business so of course I answer with a straight face "uh...no".  Been getting away with it now for 40 years.)  After all the tests, I'm scheduled for April 16.
