I'm getting tired of freezing all the time.....

Apr 12, 2007

I have to say that I'm starting to get annoyed over the fact that I'm freezing all the time. Who would have ever thought that this would be happening to me. I was always hot, sweating and uncomfortable. Now..... I can never get  warm, even in bed. I have to snuggle real close to hubby to get warm. This past week I had to go to 2 night games for my kids, one was a baseball game and one was a softball game. It has been in the 30's at night for the past week, well, I was freezing..... it took me hours after I came home to warm my legs. I can't take it..... even at work it is freezing.... my fingers are cold when I have to type.... I walk around w/ a scarf on all day long. I'm curious to see what it will be like when it is 90 out during the summer..... will I be cold then or comfortable.  At night when I go to bed i put the heat up and my hubby is always screaming it's too hot, who turned up the heat....I even use flannel sheets and a down comforter.  I feel like all I do all day long is shiver.  I've started going to the gym just so I can get warm by moving.
Anyway.... didn't mean to go on a serious vent, but it's driving me crazy.
My husband hugged me this morning and was like " where is the rest of you?, I can wrap my arms around you twice" Maybe i'm burning calories shivering trying to stay warm. i have to buy  new pants this weekend - again. I bought 1 pair of 18 and 1 pair of 20's and they are both getting loose. Today I had to wear a pair of 22's and they are annoying too big..... again - did I ever think that this would ever happen to me.... NO....
Well that is it for today.... enough complaining.

3 Months post op......

Apr 09, 2007

Yesterday(Easter) was my 3 month anniversary from Surger. I can't believe it has been 3 months..... wow where does the time go. I feel great, not 1 complaint. I'm amazed at how well it is going, I never dreamed I could lose 68 pounds in 3 months. I fit in clothes sizes that I have not been able to fit in for 17 years.....(since I got married and had my kids). I have more energy and feel like I keep up w/ my kids now.
I know that I did not do this for everyone else - but I'm also stumped that not alot of people have even noticed that I lost almost 70 pounds. I know for a fact that they all talked about me when I was heavier and tip toed around the weight subject....I guess I have to let that go and keep focusing on me and losing the rest of my weight.
I'm so thankful of the success that I have had. I have no problems w/ food. I can eat anything I try - so far.... I don't crave sugar and sweets and I surely can't sit and eat a whole bag of chips.
My next goal is to be down 100 pounds by the end of the summer... that gives me 5 months to lose about 45 pounds. I know I can do it.
I'm also excited to restart Karate. I made it to my green belt and got injured. I want to start again and keep going to get my black belt. My entire family will have their black belts in karate. My husband and son test in october and my 2 girls will test next april. My goal is to get mine as well - it might take longer - but I really want to do it.

It's been awhile.......

Mar 26, 2007

Well - it been 11 weeks since surgery. I have lost close to 60 lbs, it's around 58 - I can' see the tiny lines on the scale, my eyes are getting worse -I guess that's what happens when you hit 40. :)
Anyway - things are going well. I rarely get sick, which is a great relief. I did have an incident yesterday - I puked from 3 to 10 pm.... that was the worse it ever was. I had beef jerky and cheese stuck and could not even keep my saliva down. NASTY. I'm better today - although keeping it to liquids to give my tiny stomach a break.
I had an interview this morning. I have a job - but I am looking to change companies. It went well..... I saw friends I have not seen in several years. They all said that I looked great - but they have not seen me at my highest weight, but I felt good that I looked normal. I had to buy an outfit for this interview. I found that I am now a size 18 bottom (although I could have bought the 16 - old habits die hard) I'm an 18/20  top as well. This sure beats being 26/28 top and 24 bottom. I also went to OldNavy and tried on 20 jeans and they were too big......who would have thought that could be possible. I go back to my DR. next week for my 3 month check up. I would love to be down at least  another 5 pounds - I want to be down over 60 pounds in total for that visit.
I really hope I get that new job.... wish me luck....

7 weeks out today.......

Feb 26, 2007

It's seven weeks today - I'm down another 5 pounds - that makes it a total of 46 pounds - whooohoooo.
I have been really trying to eat everything..... I even had chinese food over the weekend and an egg sandwich w/ sausage for breakfast. Now of course it is very small portions and only I/2 slice of bread for the sandwich - but hey it was food that I ate before surgery. My clothes are gettng huge - but I can't buy anything new yet - I want to hit 50 pounds.  I got some clothes down from the attic that I thought would fit and guess what - they are already too big...... so much for saving them - some even had  tags on them.
TTFN - until next time -

6 week post check up.....

Feb 22, 2007

Yesterday I had my 6 week post op check up. Everything is going well. I'm down 41 pounds..... I've been there for about a week now. If the scales don't move in another week I have to call office and we will try and rev things up. Hopefully the scale will move. I have been doing cardio about 5 days a week for about 20 min per day. I can start cardio kick boxing next week and I hope to go back to karate in April. I was also told to try any food I want - " be adventurous". So I am - I had hummus w/ crackers, I had cheese topping from a pizza, I had poached salmon, potato wedges all within the past day. I just always have to have protein first then - carbs.
I feel great about this whole process and I'm so glad that I had my surgery - I can't wait for the summer and going to the beach - hopefully this year I won't feel so uncomfortable in a bathing suit and I will be able to swim with my kids.
TTFN.....

Happy Birthday to me.......

Feb 13, 2007

My birthday is this month, and what better gift could I have given myself. I have lost 41 pounds since I started, I'm 41 pounds lighter than last year. I feel good and I'm so happy that I finally losing weight. I think I weigh less now than when I was 9 monthes pregnant w/ my last child. I have to say not many people have even noticed that I've lost weight and if they have they haven't said anything - but that's ok - I'd rather not have to explain anything. I went to my Nut. last night and was given  the ok to try pasta/ bread and maybe rice. I can also try real fruit - not canned.
Happy Birthday to me :)

5 Weeks since surgery.....

Feb 12, 2007

Tonight is my 5 week Nutritionist visit. My scale at home says I'm down 15lbs from last visit, that makes a total of 41 lbs total (including the 2 week pre op diet.). Hopefully tonight I can get the go ahead to add some carbs. like wheat bread and crackers?? I'm missing the crunch factor. So far I seem to be abel to eat all foods, as long as I eat them slow and not too cold. I was able to have deli cold cuts and kashi oatmeal over the weekend - I was thrilled. I still struggle w/ the water amount - 32 oz is good for me. I was never a great water drinker b/4 either. Sooner or later I need to break down and get some new clothes, they are starting to look too big...... who would have thought?
All in all I still I feel really good about everything. I feel so lucky that I have not had any major problems with this whole process.

Just rolling along......

Jan 31, 2007

Well - it's Feb. 1st - where does the time go. I'm doing fine, I can't believe that is only 3 almost 4 weeks since surgery, it feels like forever ago. I'm down 5 more pounds so that makes 31 in 5 weeks. not too shabby..... I was starting to get a little bored w/ the pureed food so I was being daring and tried shrimp - not a good thing.... threw up for the 1st time. it got stuck and man did that hurt.  I guess I won't try that for awhile. I did try a meatball and a veggie patty they were fine. Sometimes I wonder if I will ever be able to eat even a bite of a normal sandwich or burger -I guess I just have to wait and see. I have to remember that it is only 3 weeks out. I started excercising - riding the bike for 15 min a day and hope to add weights for my arms real soon.  Well - that it for now - hopefully I will updated monthly on my surgery date.

2 weeks post op visit today

Jan 22, 2007

I had my 2 week visit today. I was down a total of 26 pounds since I started the liquid diet. 16lbs on the liquid and 10 lbs from the surgery. I thought that I would have lost more from the surgery, but no.
I think that it could be that i'm still slightly dehydrated, I need to drink more water. I did get moved to reg. soft foods, no more puree - yahoo. I went out to lunch w/ my hubby and had a spinach omelet for lunch. i took home 3/4 of it, but i ate normal food. I go to see my nutritionist tonight as well. everything seems to be going fine. I'm so happy with they way things have been going so far. My goal is to be down 20 more lbs by next visit in 4 weeks.

Sitting at work...

Jan 19, 2007

ok - so it's friday and I actually worked yesterday and today(friday). It was good to be back and to have something else to focus on i/o the whole wls thing. I was a little tired last night, but not that bad. I was resting in bed by 8pm. My sister thankfully made dinner for us, so I didn't have to go crazy when I got home. Today I have to say I'm a little more tired than yesterday. I seem to having trouble w/ drinking the water, it just doesnt' seem to go down smooth. I even tried peppermint tea.  I have been drinking propel water and that was doing ok for a couple of days. For the most part I'm doing just fine. I do need to increase my water though and get in a little more protein. I'm curious to see if I've lost any more weight since surgery. I go back to the doctor on Monday for my 2 week check up and to my nutritionist on monday as well.
