My First Fill Was Cancelled
May 10, 2007
Well I am two months post-op and was suppose to get my first fill today. I went to the Dr.'s office only to find out my appt. was cancelled. Now I have to wait until June 1 for my first fill. I will be almost three months post-op by that time. I'm so dissapointed in my doctor's office for this. It's just wrong for this to happen. I don't understand why they don't have another person who can do fills if the normal fill person is always in surgery with the doctor. I am going to try and change doctors and see if I can get my fills faster. Who knows how long I will have to wait for a second or third fill after this incident. I was going to have Dr. Terry Simpson do my surgery but decided to wait for Dr. Blackstone and now I am sorry. I would have had a fill already if I went to Dr. Simpson. I will listen to my instincts for now on.
Six Weeks Post-OP
Apr 19, 2007
Today I am six weeks post-op and feeling great. I can't believe I have made it this far. I am down 21 lbs.so far, but most of the loss is because of the way I am eating and not much help from the band. I am anxious to get my first fill which isn't until May 10th. I hope they don't make me wait that long for my second fill. I want to get this band thing working. I can still eat most anything without too much trouble. I did have a few times where food got stuck but I think it was because I ate the wrong thing or didn't chew well enough. Whatever, I am still happy to have lost 21lbs. so far. I'm sure when I get a fill I it will be eaiser to lose the weight. Hurry up May 10th, I can't wait!
FOUR WEEKS POST-OP
Apr 05, 2007
Today I am four weeks post-op. My weight loss has slowed down. I went to my PCP today and my weight was 201. My home scale said 197, so I'm not sure which one is right. Of course I like my home scale better. I can eat almost anything without much trouble. I can't wait to get my first fill so I can really start losing. I get hungry fast and am starting to get a lot of head hunger. I know this is what is called banster hell and now I know why they call it that. It's hard not eat what you want when your really hungry. I have to remember to follow the banster rules. My first fill isn't until May 10th, which seems so far away right now but I'm sure it will be here before I know it.
TWO WEEKS POST-OP
Apr 05, 2007
203 lbs. today, down 9 lbs. since surgery.
I'm still feeling hungry a lot and I won't get my first fill until May 10th. I'm okay with that because I am going on vacation in April and I heard it's not a good idea to get a fill right before going away. I am extremely happy with the weight loss so far and I am looking foraward to losing more. Before I know it I think I will be at my goal weight of 115 or 120. I will be happy with either.
ONE WEEK POST-OP
Apr 05, 2007
Today I am one week post-op. I am so happy the surgery is over. It was a bit more painful than I thought but each day I am feeling better. I am a lot more than I thought I would be also. I suppose I will not be so hungry after I have my first fill. I know this takes time to get it working right so I must be patient. I am not having any trouble eating or drinking yet. Today I took my first walk all the way around the block with my dog. This is a big deal for me since we have huge blocks here where I live. So far, I have lost 4 pounds since surgery and 13 since Feb. 1.
DAY BEFORE SURGERY 03/07/2007
Apr 05, 2007
Starting weight 217, BMI 41.2
Today I will be preparing for surgery. Tomorrow, March 8th, I will have my lap band surgery. I am very excited to start my new life but also very scared of the unknown. I am feeling nervous today and wish it was over. I must remember to stay in the moment and not think about it too much. I look forward to being on the losing side.
