one day........

Apr 10, 2010

I never thought it possible to be anything but a large person............I was born big. My parents were big! I didn't have a chance. Now I do. So many times like everyone on this message board, I have probably lost a thousand pounds over my life. I am 59 and taking charge with this new tool. I lost about 60-65 lbs a couple of years ago & have gained a few & lost a few & have struggling to stay around 200 lbs. Damn it's no fun!!! When I went to my WL surgeon he told me not to loose any weight because I was so close. Today I'm 189. I'm not sure what I'm hoping for but being under 200 lbs is awesome. A couple of years ago my only goal was to get out of the plus sizes.......now I don't even know what to expect............

keepin' it off!!!!!!!!!!!

I have lost & gained, lost & gained more . All of my life I have been large & overweight. A couple of years ago I lost approx. 65lbs & have felt much better of course. I was excited to be able to go into a store, purchase clothes in the regular section, not PLUS sizes. I began to slip......again! That's when I put on the breaks & chose to have this surgery. I probably am not your typical WLS patient. I was border line but did qualify. I am tired of going up & down. I am older now and need to get a handle on it. I'm hoping this is the answer.

very, very new.....not having a band placed until March 2010

Dec 23, 2009

Hello, my name is Patti. I have been looking at this site for a couple of days now.....I am interested in finding out what someone eats when they have had the surgery. I see where there are only liquids right before & after, & you have some pain, but not a lot as a rule, & I've noticed a LOT of constipation, which is lovely, but after all of the 'FUN' stuff what are 'normal' meals like? I will be scheduling my band in March of 2010. What can I expect?
