Wow Mike!!!!!!!!! That's totally awesome. Congrats on shedding (I don't like the words loosing or lost...they indicate that the pounds can be "found" again) those 170 pounds! You are an inspiration to me. I have my surgery on the 28th....just one week from today and I will be "shedding" pounds too. Hope I do as well as you! :) VickieL

I had surgery on August 16, 2002. As of today 5 months later I am down a whopping 170 Pounds and feel great. Like most on this site, I now wonder what in the world took me so long to decide to have this done. It saved my life. When you have many doctors saying you have about 5 years to live, and you hear that from multiple specialists, it really gets to you. Thanks to Dr. Owens, I now have a new life.
