Having difficulty

Feb 07, 2011

Well, I'm finally feeling better physically.  I'm down to 290 as of 2/1.  I look in the mirror and only in my face do I see a difference.  When I look at the rest of me, I still see the same large person that I was before surgery.  The problem that I'm having now is being around foods that are off limits to me.  Super Bowl day was the worst yet.  Seeing the barbecued meatballs, the wings and pizza as well as pretzels was very hard.  Going to the grocery is difficult, too, because all I see and think is "I can't have that, can't have that."  No, I've not been tempted to eat anything that I'm not supposed to, it's just hard to be around it.  I spoke with the nutritionist.  She said that once I get to my goal weight, I can have some of the "forbidden" items but in small quantities.  I'm currently at the soft food stage.  Next month, I move to regular where I'll experiment, within reason, to see what I can keep down.

Any suggestions for how to deal with my current problem?
