So here I am finally, in the process of trying to get approved for surgery.  I first found this site almost 9 years ago now.  I asked my PCP about learning about WLS back then and he just laughed.  Apparently he thought that I was doing well enough at the time with diet and exercise.  I guess I did too because I stopped looking into it.

Fast forward 9 years and countless diets later and here I am, I have lost and gained enough weight to build another human but as many of you know, for each great loss, I gained them back and they brought friends.  I am tired of it and now that I am older I feel the effect all of this extra weight has on my body.  Funny thing is that I don't always think about my weight until I am either on a scale or clothes shopping.  For some reason I forget about the fat suit I carry but I have carried it enough...I want out!!

So my sister asked me to go to a WLS seminar with her, now we are both trying to get approved...I am keeping my fingers crossed and working towards surgery.  I wish that more physicians were able to hear some of the things that Dr. V said at the seminar about diets and their effectiveness....might change a lot of negative thoughts about weight.
