I was never skinny, however I was a healthy weight! I used to be a competitive gymnast for two years. I lifted weights, ran laps, swam competed. That lifestyle forced my body to be in shape. My gymnastic career came to a screeching halt when I got injured. I tore my ACL's and it did a number on me. I had the surgery and after I healed i was as good as new, however my head was injured. I was adamant about not retuning as a competitor. So I did come back as the youngest coach. I was still active but not at the same level when I was training. I gained weight slowly over the years and it was never a problem until I was in college. I had experienced a traumatic event that resulted in me not knowing how to handle stress and I solved it my eating and eating. I managed to graduate with a BA in Psychology and about a year and a half after graduating college, I decided to move back to Philadelphia. About three months into my return home, my mother had fallen ill. Hello another stress event and I went running to the food AGAIN! Now here come's the snowball effect!
I was my heaviest when I was pregnant with my son, Miles. I can remember me getting on the scale and you know how they move the big chunk from 100 ... 150...200... 250... and the nurse kept going and I was like what the hell! She stopped at 300 and began moving the little piece I bout nearly fainted!
I was having a 9lb boy what in the world happend? Well I was High risk due to a kidney disease and the srtessed me out as well.
I had been on many many diets and failed to keep the weight off. I have been considering the surgery for quite some time and decided that I am going to be 40 and fabulous! I am 36 now. I want to healthy for my family and myself!
My surgery is scheduled for October 29,2009!
