okay, I know I'm not the best blogger. I'm avoiding the scale lately. The last time I weighed was 6-17-08. And I had gained 4 lbs (184). So, I vowed not to weigh except for on my surgiversary date (10th) of every month. Well screw that!! Aunt Flo (period) decided to come to town on the 4th. Needless to say I won't be weighing until at least the 14th. Wish me luck! I am so wanting to reward myself once I've lost 100 lbs. I don't know what I want though. I either want to go get really dramatic blonde highlights (they say blondes have more fun) or get a tramp stamp...(tattoo on my lower back). I think the hair will do. I have stretch marks on my lower back and don't know how well a tat would look over them. I am so glad I had this done and would do it over again in a heartbeat!!

I know, I'm bad...I don't have internet at home, so my mom's is the only time I have to post updates. I am about 4 1/2 months out and entered 'onederland' this morning. I got on the scale and it showed 198.4!!! I am so happy!! I have not been under 200 since shortly after my first son was born 11 years ago. I seriously need to update the pics too...but I'm still very self conscious about taking pics. We'll see. I am going to join the gym sometime within the next week or so. DH is increasingly jealous so he says he needs to join too to go with me. Which is fine w/me. I can't say how glad I am to have done this. I feel more energy and more confidence than I have in a long time. I love my RNY!!

Yesterday was my 2 month surgiversary. I am exactly 40 lbs down. It's been slow but so worth it. I feel great. I still have cravings to eat but I concentrate on eating my protein and get so full that the cravings don't matter. My camera is in the shop, so as soon as I can I will post some updated pics. I have gone from a size 26 at time of surgery to a loose 18 right now. In another 2 weeks I should definately be into the 16's I prematurely bought ; ). I can't wait to be under 200!

I am a little over one month out and already my jeans are too big for me. I've lost 24 lbs so far! I'm so happy I decided to do this. I have had an episode with pork chops though. Had a few bites and felt like I was going to have a heart attack! No more dense meat for me!! My goal was to lose 40 lbs by my birthday (2-5-08) but it looks as though that may have been a little unrealistic. We'll see!

Well, it's been a while....haven't had access to the internet lately. Had my surgery on 12/10/07 and all went well. Last thing I remember is kissing my husband and the anesthesiologist asking if I was feeling the 'goof juice' yet. I didn't even make it to the o/r awake! Woke up in recovery with a feeling of bad heartburn, dozing on and off, trying to remember to 'breathe deep'. Got to my room around 10:30 and the rest of the day is a morphine blur. My husband stayed the night by my side the whole time! Gotta love him! Went home the next day around 2:00. Have not felt a hunger pain yet! And have lost 11 lbs since starting preop diet! Not too bad. I don't see how some people are losing 25-27 in 3 weeks post surgery! We'll see. Have been a little weak to really do anything. Will keep updates!! Merry Christmas to all!!

Had my last 'real' meal this weekend! Ribeye steak and loaded baked potato! MMMM! Today I started my pre-op diet w/slim fast for breakfast and lunch and light dinner - no carbs at all. I cannot stand this slim fast! It smells and tastes like liquid vitamins! ICK! Oh well, maybe I'll lose an extra 5 on this! One week and counting until the big day!

Finally met with the surgeon and set up a date! My new life begins on 12-10-07! I'm so excited, anxious, and nervous all at the same time. Only one more week to eat with reckless abandon, then on to my pre-op diet. So tomorrow I will be giving thanks for all the friends and family that support me and that I have been given the opportunity to make a change in my life!

I finally received my approval letter in the mail on Thursday 11/8/07. Called the surgeon's office on Friday and they also got their copy on the same day. Now just waiting for them to set an appointment to discuss surgery date!

Just called my insurance company today and got the good news!!! My surgery was approved on 11-2-07 and I should be getting the letter sometime this week. It only took them a week to review but it seemed like an eternity.

I am a 32 yr old mother of 2 boys (10 & 8), married for 12 years. My current weight is 262 and I have just completed my final prerequisite for my insurance approval. All info will be forwarded to my insurance company next week for approval **fingers crossed**. I am hoping to have RNY surgery just prior to Thanksgiving. A fellow coworker received her approval for Lap Band in just 2 weeks. I love the site and visit every day. The before and after pics are just amazing!! I've loaded plenty of before pics...now just to wait to get some after pics!! Wish me luck!
