Pre-Op Optifast Day 3

Nov 08, 2009

Oh me, oh my. Friday started my pre-op diet. I have really rushed through this process. I did not have my first appointment with my surgeon until November 2nd, but I had requested my surgery date about a month ago when I was still in the orientation and PCP discussions.
As of October 30th I did not have a PCP, on the 30th I met with Dr. Ullo in  Tampa and he said that he would support me and did a chest xray and EKG that same day and I went in Monday Nov 2nd to do my blood work. Later in the day I met with Dr. Rehnke for the first one on one. His office staff is great and know that I want to get this done quickly.
I actually didn't do my psych evaluation until Friday November 6th, which is the day I started my pre-op diet. I was there for twenty minutes+
and he said okay you are so ready for this!

The Last BreakfastThe week(s)  leading up to the pre-op were interesting!
I ate more than I normally would just because I knew it was the end. Thursday morning I woke up in Jacksonville and grabbed a yogart and hit the road. About an hour into my day I realized it was my last day to eat and pulled into the Original Pancake House. I had Banana Brown Sugar French Toast with butter and syrup and a side of bacon and a chocolate milk!! OMG, I ate half of it and continued on with my day. It was wonderful! Lunch I had a pulled pork sandwich with mac n cheese and sweet tea from Sonny's.

Then for dinner I had my last girly drink, a Blue Cosmopolitan and a wonderful spread of sushi! I am glad that I will be able to eat sushi in the future, just the rice-less dishes.
On the way home John and I stopped at Wal-Mart and got a super techy scale and weighed in for the start. Blue Cosmopolitan

I was in the car traveling all day Friday, had calls in St.Petersburg and then Lakeland and did not find it hard to pass fast food restaurants all day. I had three optifast and all of my water and a diet tea by the time that I got home. For dinner I had some chicken broth and more water.
I think I peed like 12 times! I am normally a 4 times a day girl, so I know I wasn't keeping hydrated enough.

Saturday was brutal about half of the way through. I just wanted some food so bad. I ended up with some egg drop soup from my favorite Chinese restaurant. I had three shakes and got in all my water, plus some. Again peed like a freak of nature and ended up with a headache from h-e-l-l. I took an Excedrin and was a little frightened of not having anything solid in my tummy to absorb it, but I didn't have any problems and the headache went away!

So it is noon on Sunday and I am about to have my second shake. I have been doing three a day, not the recommended 5, but Dr.Rehnke's office says get in 3-5. I need to pick up the water today and then do some work this afternoon.
I will be on the road later this week, I need to head up to Georgia. So I will pack a big cooler.
