Ok so I finally have a date for surgery!  When I saw the hospitals number on my cellphones caller ID I snatched my phone up so quick I just couldn't wait, I knew just what they were calling about..(at least I hoped I knew what they were calling about..lol)  They gave me an option of March 25th..but I was concerned about my office being short that week..so me being "Ms. Nice"  decided to wait until the following week... the next date they gave me was April 1st...but I'm no fool  ....lololololol.. So I politely accepted the 3rd date.. April 2nd.. so there we have it.. my date to the start of a new life full of ups and down times I'm sure .. but I'm very excited... and yet nervous all at the same time.  I will certainly keep my profile as updated as possible during my time off...
Pre-op testing is this coming Tuesday!

Well...the task given to me by my doctor was to lose 20 lbs before my surgery in 3-4 weeks (hope surgery scheduling calls me back today)...well I've been horrible sick these last few days (serious bug going round these parts) and I've lost 10 lbs already...which is a good thing but, not the way I expected to lose it.  So the race has begun and now my goal is to lose more than 20 lbs before surgery..hoping this will help me get closer to actually accomplishing my goal weight of between 150-160 lbs.

Well I had my consult with the surgeon that will be doing RNY... we was wonderful!  I feel very confident in his abilities... I was really concerned that I'd have to have a Open RNY but....he assured me he was going to be doing it LAP..which took about 80% of the fear out it.. I have a hard time seeing open wounds/large incisons on myself.. I had a right carpal release done last summer and when the doctor took my stiches out and I washed my hand... it just split right back open...all I know is I saw white meat.. not cool.. i almost lost it.  The only thing he wants me to do is lose 20lbs over the next 3-4 weeks before my surgery.. DONE DEAL!  I will be getting a call early next week for my surgery date! HIP HIP HORAY!  I'll keep you all posted!

As some may have previously read I got my call for approval on 3/4/08! Thank you Jesus! but little to my suprise...I may possibly be having a different surgeon which has schedulings for this month.. I'm going to have a consult with him this morning.  I must admit...when I was anticipating May...to hear this month made me a little nervous to say the least.  The next phase in my journey may happen much sooner... I'll update after my consult....we'll see what happens.

As you may have read I got my "Call" of approval yesterday 3/4/08... I was told that Group Practice would be calling me back to schedule my Surgery and pre-op appointments...I was so excited and just alittle curious on approximately when are they scheduling surgeries with Dr. Schram... so i made a little phone call and that are being scheduled for the beginning of May...So at this point looks like I'll have 2 months to lose as much weight as possible..which is wonderful..I hoping to ba able to have the Lap instead of the open procedure... So my sit-ups and side bends start now!

Well this morning I was feeling alittle tired so I called into to work to let them know I'd be a couple hours late...and right before my alarm went off for the SECOND time.  my phone rings and I see the clinic's number on the caller ID...I answer and she goes on to tell me that they received my Psyc Eval from the Dr. and I WAS APPROVED!  on the forst go-round mind you.. I was basically speechless but only for a moment....(those that know me well, know that is a rare occurance..lol) So just to be sure it was thr real thing I repeated what she had told me and sure nuff it was the real deal...

So......the ladies in General Pratice will be calling me back in about 1 week she said to set me surgery date and all my pre-surgery appointments!  I'm getting started today on doing my best to lose as much weight as possible before my surgery date.. Just in case they say they want me to lose 10% of my body weight first!...I'll let em know "Doc on on it!"
I'm so thankful to have such wonderful people in my life that have been such a support to me.. and now those of you I've met on this sight I really just consider my extended OH family....Thanks for all the prayers for the quick approval!.. Now the real work begins....

OK.... So the wait is driving me crazy!.... the only thing that they need bfore they submit my info to the insurance company for approval is the psych Eval...which the Dr said he'd get to them by either yesterday or Today at the lastest... as of 1:30pm today it wassn't in their hands yet...  Doing my best to patient but I so ready to know when this journey will take it's next turn down that wonderful road to better health & weight loss....AAARRGGGH!  ok I;m calm.. :) lol...but so ready to know.
