12 Days Post Op

Jan 09, 2008

Yesterday I went to the dr to have my tube removed.  I weighed in at 297.  I lost 19 pounds and am now in the 200's again.  It has been a while since I have been here.

I have been feeling great since my surgery.  This was my 3rd surgery in my life and has by far been the best recovery.  I have had energy and really no pain whatsoever.

Monday, day 10 post-op I did feel horrible.  I froze all day and had no energy whatsoever.  I really did feel like I was coming down with something.  I brought this up to the nurse practioner and she said that my body now realizes that something is different and is going into a type of shock.  I have also had a problem with drinking water.  It has been making me nautious.  The np said to cut it with crystal lite and it will be easier to tolerate.

Today I got up and started drinking my watered down crystal lite.  Breakfast was refried beans.  I felt great afterwards.  Ready to start moving except I am so cold.  I think that I am losing my natural insulation.  I put on some music and started doing very light housework.  As I sit at the computer I am doing small leg lifts.  I keep thinking baby steps, but I realize that my goal today is to get out and walk 1/2 block.

Lunch time made me realize that I have to plan my meals much better.  I ordered a wls cookbook from the library and they just emailed me that its in.  I am trying to get the motivation to get out of my pjs to go get it.  I would love to go to the dr next week and have lost another 10 pounds, so I guess I gotta move to lose or at this phase of my life I feel I need to lose before I can move.  Regardless, I'm off to the library.
