Carle Foundation Hospital.

"There is a beautiful large guest house located on the hospital grounds for family to stay in free of charge. I was in a private room (which everyone gets) my mother stayed with me the frist night and she was brought a nice relicing chair which lays out for sleeping. The nurses were ALL soooo nice! The hospital truly was awesome! The ONLY down side is that the main parking grage is out of service for repairs but should be opening soon (Aug 09') so you have to use the south parking garage or park at the fair grounds and take the hospital shuttle. They have internet access which my daughter used on her laptop while there and guest computers in the lobby. There are two gift shops, a cafe, and the eatery which has LOTS of options. I was given a pain pump like all WLS patients so there was no waiting on pain meds but the nurses check on me often and they really were so sweet! For a surgical experience it really was very very nice!"

Uretz J. Oliphant

"Dr Oliphant was so nice and down to earth. I liked him from the frist time I met him and still do. The staff is nice and the main person you'll be dealing with is Ann which is the nurse that handles the WLS patients. The office can be a bit busy and Ann is constantly on the run; so just be persitent and patient. Ann will get back to you!!! Aftercare is very important to Dr Oliphant and they are incredibly detailed and require pre-op meetings and an information session -- which is great because you WILL NEED this information! You will be given information on what to watch for, reasons to contact the office, and the required post op visits. I knew I was in good hands with Dr Oliphant as he's also a trama surgeon and won surgeon of the year. His bedside manner is also good. He didn't sugar coat risks, and I knew I was prepared. On a scale of 1-10 I'd rate him a solid 10! And he accepts IL medicaid!"
