Melissa, I didn't have any visitors at the hospital. The first day, forget it, you're in surgery. The second day, you're on morphine, sleeping on and off all day. Third day, there's walking and sipping and television and more sleeping. Fourth day is usually time to go home. You could bring puzzles books, novels, knitting or hand craft stuff you might enjoy(?), a cd player/cassette player with music, solitaire cards.

Melissa,I am wishing you a safe, complication-free surgery and a smooth, quick recovery. I had my open RNY on 12/10/01 and can honestly say I have NO regrets other than not having had WLS several years sooner. It is, without a doubt, the best thing I could have done for myself. God bless you as you begin your healthy new life.
