I guess that my story is the same as most of the rest of you.  I have been overweight since I was about five years old.  I have dieted and lost weight only to gain it all back (and ususally more) over and over again.  I have never gotten down to my goal weight!   I would love to weigh what it says on my drivers license (since I was 16 a good long time ago) which is 120.

I have two small boys, three and five, and I am no spring chicken (44), and I really want to be around and healty as they grow up.  I know that this is not possible if I continue with my weight as it is now.  I currently weigh 268.  I am pretty short, 5 ft, and that makes for a bmi of 52.5.  I always hate seeing Morbidly Obese on my chart when I go to the doctor's office.

On the 7th of February 2007 my husband and I went to the information meeting about the lab band surgery at our local hospital.  The Monday after that we met with the administrative coordinator at the bariactric solutions at Mercy Hospital.  That was the 12th of February.  She told me that I would be able to have my surgery on the 12th of March, and my husband on the 26th of March (we wanted a little time in between so someone could watch the kids!)    We met with our psych Doctor on the 16th of February and have an appointment to meet with our Surgeon on the 28th of this month.  I got a call on Friday fron Kelly (the coordinator) saying that my surgery was approved and that she expects my husbands approval to come through on Monday or Tuesday!!!  I am really excited to say the least!  It looks like my surgery will actually be on the 19th of March and my husband on the 2nd of April, 2007.

Looking forward to being banded and on our way to health!!!
