I thought I would start the new year off with an update. I still love the band. I am averaging loosing 2 pounds a week. I have came off most medicine. I only have 3 cc in my 10 cc band. Some days are better than others but for the most part everyday is good.  I would do it again if given the option. I cannot begin to explain how much better I feel. I can fit in movie theater seats comfortably; booths in resturants are not a tight fit anymore; my knees do not hurt and I could keep naming the positives from this surgery. The negatives are so few why name them!!  I hope 2009 is the year I loose the rest of the weight for good.

I am almost 5 months post-op at this time. Down almost 40 pounds. If I had to do it over tomorrow I would. I have 2.4cc in my band as of today. I do not feel that I am missing anything as far as food is concerned. I am off some medicine and hope to be off all before long. This is great.

Going to get my first fill today. I am a little nervous but I need one. I can eat anything and everything. Nothing bothers me anymore. This is not good. Hopefully the fill will handle this situation.

I saw my family doctor today. He was so excited about my weight loss. You would have thought he invented the surgery. LOL  I am off my nexium and I take my blood pressure medicine every other day now. Go back to see him in 2 months and I may be completely off the blood pressure medicine.

Went to see Dr. Suggs today. According to his scales I have lost 11 pounds in one week. More like 13 if you had on the 2 pounds I gained at all those last meals before surgery. I am pleased so far. As my energy returns I plan on excerising more. I will see Kristen on April 29, 2 weeks since surgery and over 2 weeks since I last saw her. Wonder if she will be able to tell I have lost weight?

I had my surgery yesterday and it went well. I had a hernia that had to be repaired. Surgery was scheduled at 7:30 but it was not until after 8:00. Did not get sick but did have to have a pain shot. Pain is not that bad today. Incisions are very sore. I am walking and sipping alot. So far so good. Hope it continues okay. Will not get first fill for 6 weeks. The journey has begun.

Lapband surgery will be April 16th. I am excited but also nervous. Dr. Suggs took up alot of time with me today and answered all my questions. His staff is very patient with me and I really appreciate them.

I go Monday, March 31st to see Dr. Suggs. We will decide on the date at that time. My sister-in-law is having lapband on April 3rd. I am so excited for her also. We both have had to deal with our weight problems for so long. I hope that with both of us going through this together we can help each other.  Hopefully Monday I will be posting a date.

I have my last appointment with the dietican on Monday, March 25 and then my paperwork will be sent in to the insurance company for approval. I am so ready for this surgery. Hopefully the day will be in the month of April.

Going to see the shrink today. Should be able to have surgery sometime around the end of March or the first of April. I am so ready!! Dr. Suggs in Decatur will do my surgery. The insurance company makes you jump through all these hoops before you can get approved. Any comments about what I should be doing to get ready would be helpful.
