Me again; When I said I'm already feeling better, I meant better than I have in years, not just since the surgery! My surgery was on Tuesday, and I went home on Thursday. But I'm feeling better than I have in at least 5 years!

Hi, Michelle: Just wanted to echo Yvonne's post that everything you're experiencing is normal. We have all felt exactly the same way. You're right to go ahead with this. I'm only 12 days out, and I am already feeling better. Believe me; you will be fine! Good luck, and God Bless! proximal lap rny, 08/19/03, -18 lbs.

Michelle, everything you mentioned is normal. You wouldn't be normal if you were not scared. Just try to focus your thoughts on other things until that day comes. I know that may be hard but try to do it. This way you are not too stressed out before surgery. I haven't had mine yet, but I have had a lot of other very major surgeries prior and the less stressed out you are the better you are. I will keep you in my prayers for your peace and serenity. Best wishes to you as you continue on your journey.

8/14/03 Had my dietician consult today. It went well, she seemed very supportive this time around.Ok so maybe I judged her too fast. It just seems like when you tell some people they have a tendency to think and act like you really shouldn't do this surgery. This time she was very helpful and really seemed to support my decision, which was greatly appreciated cause I'm doing it! I still have a few lingering fears but I am even more frightened to just let my weight get higher and higher. I am determined to make this surgery work and work well. I got up this morning and my feet hurt so bad I had to hold on to furniture to get around and all I could do was cry. I made up my mind right then that since there is something I can do to help my physical problems I'm gonna do it.I feel very confident that all will go great.(((((((HUGS))))))))

Michelle, There was not a support group in my area either. So I stated one. I went to the peers sections of the obesityhelp site and looked for people under the city section that lived near me and sent them all an email invited them to my first support group meeting(after you find a place to have it of course) A church is letting me use there church... and I have gotten a huge response! You will too I am sure. There are probably other people that feel the same as you do! START IT!It is fun to! Good luck, Jeannie

Don't go buying ANY protein drink in big containers until after your surgery. I was told that the taste buds change, but didn't think it would happen to me, so I am stuck with this gigantic container of protein powder that I really liked before surgery. Now I can't stand it.
