I am going to my First Support Group meeting at DDEAMC hospital at Fort Gordon, GA which for me is a requirement to be able to be scheduled for surgery. I'm hoping to be able to get a psych appointment and tehn get my surgery date! Pray that all goes smoothly and quickly lol.Thanks for all the support you guys give!

Hi Michelle, Oh yes I have gotten my share of remarks about surgery and diets. I hear that all I need to do is push myself away from the table and exercise more. Sympathy that my weight is to the point of needing surgery and then hearing all of the bad about it and then those who say they like my personality and don't want it to change-after all people who are heavy are such funny and happy people. We are going to get it all I'm afraid, and those who loved to eat with us are going to feel intimidated and we will probably loose some friendships. I need to do this for me, and Lord willing each of us will succeed and be better people for it, as well as tolerant of others. We can learn to be a support. Right now though the remarks suck-that's why we vent to each other. MY date is 9-ll-guess what remarks I get to that. Good Luck and God Bless
