Getting to get to this point..

Jan 28, 2009

Ok, so the last time I wrote, I had pre-op tests scheduled through Legacy Obesity Institute. I completed one psych eval, 2 (yes, two) sleep studies, a medical check up and another wait for 9 months (October 2007) for my initial surgical consultation.

In September 2007 I discovered I was pregnant. One week after cancelling my surgical consult, I miscarried. So not only was I not able to carry my baby past it's second month but was told my name went to the bottom of the "list".

I waited another 8 months for my re-scheduled surgical consult appointment, which went well and the doctor was ready to set my surgery date. Unbeknownst to me, during this time, my insurance company revoked Legacy Obesity Institute from their approved provider list. Ugh!!

After speaking with my insurance company, and informing me of the providers covered, I chose Dr. O'Rourke, with OHSU, with whom I am very happy with. And yes, he is covered! And yes, my surgery date is FINALLY set for 2/17/09! Yay! No one should ever have to go through all this, yet perserverance pays off and may God bless my little baby who waits for me in Heaven.
